This is seriously one of the most fun games I've played in a while. It's just so well done! I wouldn't change a thing, seriously! But I WILL beat that score William! Count on it!

One slight nitpick: The game is clearly styled after 16-bit systems like the Super-NES and the Mega Drive/Genesis, which didn't come out until the 90s. The most advanced graphics you'd get on an early/mid 80s machine would be something like a Commodore 64 home computer, which would still look nowhere near that nice. You might get something like that on an Amiga or a late 80s arcade machine, maybe?
Still, awesome.
Still, awesome.

I'm not really one for these style of games, but it was fun enough to play once.
My score:

Oil 935
Energon 580
Cassettes 1386
Boss Battles 8

Actually the mega drive debuted in Japan in 1988, and then the US the following year. Europe didn't get it till the year after that. Though considering the movie is set in 1987, I would say the game is inspired by the latest arcade games that were making waves, some of which would hit the mega drive in its first assortment of games.
To be fair though, the mega drive didn't really hit its stride till a certain blue hedgehog turned up in 1991...

Huh, interesting! I assumed the movie was set in the early/mid 80s for some reason. But that makes more sense in any event- arcade machines always had an advantage over consoles in raw power/graphics (though nowadays an arcade machine with a comparable "power gap" over a modern console would be absurdly expensive).

I think it was the mid to late nineties where the gap between arcades and consoles really narrowed to the extent where it was a death knell for arcades. The minute arcade perfect conversions appeared or were at least possible that was it.
On topic about this game, curse you will for bringing it to my attention! This game is too addictive! I've got writing I should be doing!

Ha! Told ya Will! Level 46 with 9 boss battles! About 700 or so energon and oil and 1600 cassettes.
I really like this game. It's like a better version of the Mystery of Convoy game. If I could change just one thing though, I would add Blitzscream in the game. Other than that, awesome!

I do wish I knew how to take screen caps.
I just got to about level 93 (maybe higher, forgot to write it down), 1962 oil, 1751 Energon, 3195 Cassettes, and 18 boss battles!
I ultimately lost because the screen couldn't generate itself as fast as Bee was running across it. Not sure if the problem was on their end or my PC.

With the Transformers Bumblebee movie coming in just one month (to the day), the marketting campaign is picking up some major steam. Bumblebee, in his film look, is appearing in as many places as possible. He was part of the Toronto Santa Clause parade in both his robot and car mode on a float.
Bumblebee will also be part of next month's loot crate along with merchandize from Dungeons and Dragons, Fallout and more (all in th same crate).
In more car related news, Bumblebee is part of Gamestop's advertizing on Christopher Bell's NASCAR racecar. He even included a video of the new adverts being applied to the car which you can see here.
Lastly, we have not one but two Bumblebee related books now on Amazon for anyone to purchase.
There is the Junior Novel and the Passport to Reading Level 2 book A New Car for Charlie.

LootCrates are 50% off right now including half off the shipping making the crate only $12.50 plus tax. Worth taking a chance.

At 0:19 this is either his version with Cybertronian alt mode parts or a third Earth based alt mode in this movie.
*EDIT:
Somebody in the comments section told me IT IS his Cybertronian form.

Fellow Seibertronian Lunatic Prime has posted an new international trailer/TV Spot for the upcoming Bumblebee movie which show us a new shot of the titular character in a new form. It appears to be Cybertronian, similar to the hologram we see Shatter show John Cena in previous trailers.
Let us know what you think and how that would fit within the film, especially since we already know he is a Jeep before turning into a Beetle.
Also we have the original Bumblebee trailer rendered in Play-Doh. It is available on both youtube and Facebook.

A big part of the anticipation for the upcoming Bumblebee film is the Generation One inspired designs and sequences. Paramount is well aware of this fan pleasing change to the designs and have made a feature for us. We see many cast members, the director and designers talk of Generation One designs and wanting to make these characters more remenescent of the design 80s fans are more familiar with. We get nice 360 shots of both Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as well as new shots of the Cybertron sequnce featuring Optimus Prime, in a shot very similar to his heroic jump in the 86 Transformers film.
