New images of Henkei Ironhide

Ooh....Me likes. Must get one of these. Love how the red seems to be deeper and the yellow stripe is bangin. Very nice.

I'm always a bit leery of superficial recolors of American figs. So far most of it all looks like they just added shiny metalic parts to most of them and not adressed some of the actual mold problems, like Ironhide's head. It still looks like he's gonna be looking down all the time.

Whoever designed this transformation did a really poor job. The side windows are all fragmented, the windows are part clear, part painted? The robot mode looks good but man that vehicle mode looks like it's been in a car wreck. At least the Henkei version has darker windows. Was hoping the Henkei would make me change my mind, but still... nope. Thanks for posting the pix though!

Granted the pix don't show him put together as well as he could be, but in another thread the point was discussed that he should look like he's been in a car wreck. Even his bio mentions all the "battle testing" he's been through--it's Ironhide!

Don't let the rough exterior turn you off, though. This one's a gem, and one of the first great incarnations of this G1 character we've gotten (the other passable one being a Botcon exclusive, so good luck with that one...).

Sweet! I don't like the light grey on the bumper and face, but he looks great otherwise!

as much as i like the bright red on the japan version i like the us version more i like to see the autobot symble when hes in robot mode henkie doesnt have the logo when hes in robot mode just a slive plain plate i dont like that.

The stripe and dark shoulders really improve this figure.

I don't understand why Takara is releasing these figures with G1 accurate paint jobs while Hasbro isn't.

Why isn't Hasbro coloring them like that to begin with? Has there ever been a reason offered? Laziness? A secret deal with Takara? I just don't get it.

That could explain an extra stripe here and there, but what about Astrotrain, who is a different color entirely?

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about Astrotrain having two different themes....
