That Hot Shot figure is 100% pure win.

It's amazing how much better Tomy's paint jobs are. I almost want their Cheetor and Dinobot.... Almost. But this. Damnit Hasbro, you're really making my love for you fade lately. That stuff looks so damned cheap in colored plastic.

QFT.

The car mode looks very very nice.

Comparing the Old Hot Shot to this new prototype is amazing. They pretty much went all out with this new mold.

The mask, windows, and headlights are all clear plastic, which is absolutely fantastic. Long gone are the days where Jolt couldn't stand. And look at Jolt's placement in vehicle mode! He fits perfectly there without standing out too much.

Looking back Armada may have been such a good series if Hasbro downplayed the Powerlinking gimmick. Think how all the kibble, brick figures, and lack of possibility would have disappeared. Alas, that is not the case, and I am forced to drool over 25th Anniversary remakes. :)

I'm concerned about Hot Shot's kibble.

I LIKE JAM!

I always liked Hotshot, and I'm an especially big fan of remake toys that genuinely stand better for the original character. I almost think I should get a second Animated Blackarachnia to sit with Silverbolt, for example. Dinobot finally looks good in both modes, instead of incurably ridiculous. I like the idea of Hot Shot having his place with his buddies in Armada.

Well, to be fair -

It looks like Dinobot's feet are mistransformed, turned 180 degrees they should be show-accurate.

It looks like Dinobot's tail weapon does include a removable sword, although it looks nothing like his TV weapon.

It looks like his tail weapon does spin, and the top & end of the tail fold back out of the way for it to do so freely.

It looks like he'll have a changeable faction symbol.

Unfortunately, he only vaguely resembles his TV counterpart, and his even disregarding that, his design doesn't really represent an improvement over the original.

Not as much as the original Hot Shot's ShOuLdErS hUrT.

Anybody else getting an Audi TT vibe from him?

Hot Shot is a must buy. So is Cyclonus and I might just get the Henkei Version of Hound.

At the back of Hot Shot in car mode- under the helicopter is a clear plastic thing that could eather be some kind of to be coloured burnout flame :D or a stand to steady the copter :-(

What do you reckon?

i can only hope that is an unfinished prototype of dinobot. for him to not have any blue -not even on the face- would be a disappointment. his beast mode dosent blow me away but its a step up from the older 90s toy and the robot is much better looking.
hotshot looks great but as i have no memories or affection for that character i will pass on him. kudos to armada fans though.

That Hot Shot looks pretty cool and I don't care for Armada.

They both look very nice. Dinobot needs just a bit of touching-up and a blue translucent sword (which luckily we now know IS a spring-loaded missile that can be used as a sword. I'd rather it was just a sword and could plug in but not be spring-loaded but that's too much to hope for). I don't know if anyone has noticed but Dinobot DEFINITELY has a faction-switching insignia from Predacon to Maximal and back. You can see the way it is - how it sticks out and previous pictures showed it sitting fully in place. That's a winner feature right there! Hotshot is nice but I would like to see if Jolt and flip down at the back for the cheesy propeller turbo gimmick (though as much as it is cheesy, it is okay and should look good on this figure). Plus, you have to have Jolt there or you will be missing half of the spoiler, it seems but I may be wrong (it might fold).

I've never been a big fan of Armada Hotshot, but that figure is absolutely amazing - they pulled it off beautifully.

And Dinobot is growing on me alot, he doesn't look half bad in that photo. Still pissed about the wrong colours though... he's one of the best (if not the best) TF character ever, you think they could at least give him a proper paint job.
