New Stock Images for Transformers Cyber Battalion Series

Posted by william-james88 Mar 25, 2015 at 11:15pm CDT 23,204 views
We had previously reported on a new Transformers "cyber" line which featured simplified Transformers toys of G1 characters. These came in 11 and 7 inches (each had their own Bumblebee). The facebook page Cybergeek's alliance has new images featuring all 7 inch figures from this new Cyber Battalion line (which were initially from the Transformers Columbia facebook page). Below you will see images of Cyber Battalion 7 inch Megatron, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Optimus (first time we see him) and Starscream which happens to the same mold previously found as a prototype at the Children's Museum exhibit. This confirms that the prototype found there was of an upcoming figure instead of a discarded one. Images of the boxes are also available, and each lets us know how many steps are involved in transforming the figure. Please give us your thoughts on this new line now that we have clearer images (mirrored below).

I personally dont mind if they have simplified transformations. What bothers me is that it looks like they have a severe lack of articulation. Wrist articulation is obviously 0 here.

I'm personally OK with this line. This is basically the upscaled legion figures again, and they look good. Very simple yet very to the point. The figures look like their character, have the necessary articulation for playability, and convert very quickly for rapid transformation and play. I really like it. This should be done instead of 1-step and 3-steps: It's only a bit more complex yet still fun and playable and are not bricks.

Sadly it seems that the upscaled legends are still a thing... :-x

Oh well, more money that will hopefully be fed into the Generations line.

They look like fun. I like the designs of both moods on all those guys. I really like that Megatron.
But hey! Their for the kids. I don't think I need 'em, but I got a nephew who does.

Not bad, actually. I'm thinking this may be a next step up for my 4.5 year old nephew from his Rescue Bots. It's a shame the figures have pretty sparse paint apps. A little more paint to bring out the mold details would improve these significantly. Heck, if that Starscream were more properly G1-colored, it could have been a contender for the Classics shelf as a nicely upsized alternative to the deluxe Classics mold from 2006.

Please, please fill in the blank. How tall these guys on the pictures are? #-o

Regardless, I would buy that starscream for sure! :x

So that's what all this art was for.

That starscream actually looks really good. Not G1 perfect, but still pretty close. Obviously doesn't have the Null Rays from the prototype image, but I'd probably still pick this guy up.

Optimus looks pretty sweet design wise, apart from the arms, although he looks pretty skinny.

Megatron looks great in robot mode - very cool. Altmode is a little OTT and chunky, but then I'm comparing him to the recent Leader Megatron... So no competition there.

Other guys I don't really care for

These look pretty good, actually. Judging by the prototype images of Starscream, the articulation isn't all that bad. They have elbows, shoulders, hips, and knees. I don't expect more than that for a figure that I know is supposed to be simplified. These are perfect for my nephews. My daughter sometimes says she wants some Transformers, so I might get her a few.

I'd be OK with starscream if they come in deluxe size. Well, to be honest, thundercracker. I could use a new deluxe size of him. Classics mold just don't cut it for me these days.

I'm really liking these so far. I have no need for more Bumblebees especially at those sizes nor do I have any need for more Optimus Primes either but all four look pretty good. I'll get Grimlock because I buy as many dinosaur Transformers as I can and because it looks a lot like Dinobot. Megatron looks awesome. While Starscream looks good, I don't like that shade of blue combined with that shade of gray. If either or were slightly darker it would look better. Also why the all black legs? They really break up both modes badly. It could be that I'm just not used to seeing that color schemed Starscream with black legs and it would look better with a little time though.

As others have also said, these are much better than some of the other simplified offerings they've released lately.

Actually, the images of the prototype show that there is an attachment point on the...deltoid section of the arms to plug the null rays into so you can have a more G1 looking Starscream.

The best part of these is that the Starscream prototype made me afraid that we wouldn't get the Leader Thundercracker as Starscream. Now that this prototypes was shown to be a different line, hopefully we will get Leader Starscream. The comics definitely seem to be illuding to the fact he is going to take that body.

These all look like those over sized legion knock offs that use to hit drug stores not to long ago. Hasbro is doing way to much of this simplified crap & its going to do nothing but hurt the franchise, at least they could do is paint the damn things. At least if they looked good people might want them but no kid or collector is going to want a 2 tone figure with no play value. Why do you think AoE 1 steps & titans are still clogging shelves?

gah ... not liking that blue on Starscream.

Prime looks incredibly ... unoriginal. Megatron however looks great.

Man this makes me wish they had done some more beast-hunters upsizes especially Abominus and the legends Airacnid.
