Optimus Maximus Revealed?

Remember the Supreme Class Optimus Maximus news that came out of the UK Toy Fair a few days ago? Courtesy of twitter an image of the figure has been revealed. The figure appears to be based Optimus Prime (not a shocker it's called Optimus Maximus after all) and according to the previous news transforms into a base with electronic features for use with Cyberverse figures.
Optimus Maximus - bases make a return to the line with Maximus, a large scale Cyberverse Playset which doubles a fully transforming figure and base for your Cyberverse figures. Featuring light and sound features, firing rockets and launching vehicle this guy was fairly imposing standing somewhere in between Ultimate Op and a regular Leader Class figure. It looked quite bare without any Cyberverse figures locked in but you could see the gun turrets just waiting to be armed by you min faves.

I think I may get this just to have it "operated" by the various Legends/Cyberverse/Stratosphere accessory Optimus Primes.

I don't care. We're getting (hopefully) a cityformer. Frick yeah!
Truthfully, since Hasbro is probably trying to test the waters with a Cityformer and is playing the "Everyone likes Optimus Prime, so we'll make an Optimus Prime City Former" card to pad the resume.

That's what I'd like to know. His proportions remind me of BW Optimal Optimus; he does look cool though.

Interesting. I wonder if this hints at an upgraded form of Prime or if this is just something unique to Cyberverse. I'm personally not interested but it does look pretty cool for what it is.

I hope the transformation is as impressive as Trypticon - he spreads out so much in base mode. If he does that and has good articulation I'll bite.

My thoughts exactly. I had all the of the exo-suits growing up, but never had the base they all locked into... Might still be at my parent's place somewhere. Ah, memories.
Back to the topic at hand, it looks like it could be a neat display piece, but definitely would like some clearer pictures.

the alt modes will have to be some fancy pants superawesomesauce for me to get past the robot mode, at least from what it looks like now. I'm not excited to see Optimus Prime as a base for himself and his mates. So the precise reason for him being OP is to make him more appealing, only that's working the opposite way for me. Sigh.
Still even if I end up passing on this, I hope there's plenty of people who do, and that he's a good toy. Good sales could encourage more like this.
