Hmmmm. It is a toughie - MP has the best robot mode by a long shot, but Universe's weapon mode is so much better and refined. Hard to choose which is more important.

Wait a sec. That cartoon model's a fan-corrected version, right? A Fracas-colored version of the model that was based on Fracas's toy, yes? As opposed to the Nightstick-colored version based on the Fracas toy but which was instead used for Nightstick in both The Rebirth and the Marvel comics:

Nope. It's the real deal. Though not named and assigned to Cyclonus.

But how? The cartoon and comics switched their character models, applying each's intended color schemes to the other's model, like what would later happen between Nightbeat's and Siren's heads.

Character model-cels went through several revisions before locking the final version, and Rebirth had a plethora of new characters; it's easy for things to get mixed up during production, especially before the age of internet and smart-phones.

No, I mean, how do you have a "real" version of the correct model in the right colors when the cartoon and comics both had the models switched but given each other's right colors?

Pretty much every character had several model-cels till they got the final stamp of approval, it's possible that the animation studio and comic-book artist received an outdated/unfinished reference material for Fracas and Nightstick. (Like how several characters in 2nd season AKOM had the wrong colours, or the original TFTM Floro Drey designs showing up in a couple of episodes and the Marvel comics.) I wouldn't read too much into a blooper. Sometime all it takes is for someone to put down the wrong name on the drawing.
