TF:Animated to Air in Australia on the 31st of May

Posted by i_amtrunks Apr 29, 2008 at 6:43pm CDT 12,644 views
Months after it first aired in the USA, Canada, UK and other international markets, Transformers: Animated will also begin airing in Australia in a little over a months time.

While it has been known for some time that Pay TV operators Foxtel would have the series beginning in May, an Official start date has been found by Super Mega Happy Fun Convoy from TAAU in his Foxtel guide listing.

The opening Episode is listed to air on Cartoon Network at 9am (EST) on Saturday 31st of May 2008.

No confirmation as yet on when Transformers: Animated will have it's Free-to-air television debut.

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

It can... Energon and Cybertron got terrible air times for their only showing on TV (6am Saturdays).

However Australia and New Zealand have been getting various Waves of figures released earlier than they have in the USA, so it's not all bad.

Plus we got to see the movie first as well!

Well except for you. Because you were too disgruntled to be trusted near Bay.

But we also got MP-02 Magnus, and a number of other toys weeks before they were released in the US.

Saturday @ 9am ... i'm sure that'll clash with some cheesy MTV reality show. Oh decisions decisions ... maybe i'll just go cook sausages for fundraising. :P

In this age of the internet, do any Aussies actually watch TV as it is broadcast rather than using YouTube and Torrents?
Torchwood, Doctor Who, Transformers Animated... I'm fully up to date with them because of the internet. I don't even have my TV plugged in.

Geez, took 'em long enough! I can finally watch Animated on the big screen instead of on my little laptop here. But it's only the opening episode!

Lugnuts!

You need to know something about the internet in Australia.

We make Mexico look good.

That being said, I actually do still watch tv now and then, mostly for the Australian made content, Discovery Channel, and the wrestling (Smackdown actually airs in Australia before the US).

Otherwise it's all torrents for me.

I "research" all my tv as well, since all my shows get such bad treatment by the Aussie Television stations, but still, it's nice to know that the show will be airing here soon. The way that Transformers figures have still been selling, I'm sure there are plenty of fans (young and old) who cant wait for new Transformers figures to arrive.

My biggest gripe with Transformers on Australian TV is the lack of promotion it gets and often overshadowed by CN produced shows and Hannah Barbera shows, or cut and butchered for Toasted TV.

The toys sell well, VERY well. Just imagine if CN actually promoted TF.

I think it's a case of getting accustomed to something for so long that when you get to experience something different it's better because it's different.

That and i've found American women have a weakness for the Australian accent.

Yes I remember how terribly Toasted TV ripped apart Cybertron, they do the same thing to other shows as well.

And the toys do sell very well, Cybertron sold like hotcakes on Mothers Day, and I presume that because of the extra build up of fans thanks to the movie, that Animated will sell even better than Cybertron, and maybe even surpass the Movie.
