Are they really thinking a parent sees these online only toys of niche characters and s hoping they order it? Why not just talk like you are talking to fans, who are undeniably the main target audience for this product?!

Those don't count, being Japan exclusives. But if you compare the base prices of SS and WFC toys, they are more expensive in Japan...

I may be talking out of my ass here. Japan display their prices WITH the sale tax included. That's why they seems more expensive. Furthermore, the base prices get cheaper when you checkout at Amazon.jp. The sales tax is removed.

So does that mean Mandarake is screwing foreign orders over?

Mandarake is not a retailer in the proper sense that it gets a toy from the distributor (supplier), they are a collectible second hand store. So we can't apply the same principles. And this Victory Saber isn't sold at Japanese big box retail either so it's in it's own pricing category as well.
