Titan Books' Press Release for Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday

Posted by Seibertron Apr 24, 2007 at 9:52am CDT 32,405 views
For years we have waited... finally, the day is nigh: Autobots vs Decepticons on the big screen! The live action Transformers movie from director Michael Bay (The Rock, Armageddon) and executive producer Steven Spielberg is released on July 27th 2007, and is set to be the smash of the summer!

But before the film hits our screens, eager fans can snap up the official prequel novel from Titan: TRANSFORMERS: GHOSTS OF YESTERDAY [Titan Books, 25 MAY 2007, £6.99]!

Before their conflict on Earth, there is much more to the story of the Autobots and Decepticons: duelling alien races who battle for an object that could mean the destruction or salvation of their existence. Available way before the movie release, this novel is essential reading for those who want the full story that leads into the action on screen.

Having whet your appetite with the prequel, the official novelisation will satisfy the fans in the run-up to the release – TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE NOVELISATION [Titan Books, 22 JUNE 2007, £6.99]. Packed full of extra scenes and details that they just couldn’t fit into the movie, it tells the full story of the epic fight for survival in the hands of young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf).

ALAN DEAN FOSTER has written in a variety of genres, including hard science fiction, fantasy, horror, detective, western, historical, and contemporary fiction. He is also the author of numerous non-fiction articles on film, science, and scuba diving, as well as novel versions of several films including Star Wars, the first three Alien films, and Alien Nation.

"its being released again?"

Yes! In another country this time. Previously it was only available in the UK as a US import- now it's being released here.

Titan handles UK TF comics and books, publishing and distribution. We still get imports of stuff like IDW comics, but items intended for the UK market are generally printed by Titan.

AAAH, thanks. It was unclear of where it was being released. Sorry for the faux pas.

I bought it a few weeks ago here in the USA. It currently is at WalMart for $4.85.

I enjoyed it. It is a fast read and helps set up the movie storyline without giving too much away. Lots of action, death, and destruction. The Autobot and Decepticon personalities fit the characters.

It also is a good introduction to Sector 7. In the book they have actually found and contained Megatron in a frozen state on Earth. The Decepticons are "looking" for him (although Starscream is not eager to find him) and the All Spark.

Man, this really is a good book, though. I've got about 80 pages left at this time, and I'm really impressed. If there is as much robot action in the movie as there is in this book, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I'm surprised there's such a huge gap between the American and Birttish releases of this book.

Nothing fancy, just the old teaser image of the robot eye ovelooking the Earth.

It's an interesting read, in some respects I think it serves as a better prequel to the movie than what we've seen of the prequel comics so far.

Lots of times internet press releases are later than actual releases. But yeah, someone dropped the ball on this.

Sounds good. Maybe release the book in Hungary?
