The Stingray is one of my favorite looking robots.
So is the Bugatti. Wait til you see this guy in action. He will blow your mind!!
And Hound reminds me of the bearded chubby fellow in Braveheart. He might take the cake when it comes to personality.

So Hound is basically Bulkhead, but with a beard instead of a giant chin?
Meh. Think I'll be waiting for this to be free-to-air. Same director, same writer, same "awesome" characterisations (from the sounds of it) as the third film. Yeah, I'm over this ride now.

I'm with you. Though, I'd add that I wasn't impressed from GO. Despite all intentions to give the films a shot, once we hit masturbation jokes and awkward, American-Pie-style family comedy? F*ck no. No, no, no, no, no.
Back on topic, anyone else weirded out by... TF BEARDS?!?? Weren't the dreadlocks enough?
Bad enough what they did to Wheeljack (Skeletor!), but now beards???
I guess I'm saying I'm not going to be satisfied until I see some nose hairs on Prime.
And please do them right: they should be tentacling and swaying in the wind, to convey life. Bay? MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Good Lord.
My opinions of this get worse and worse as time goes by.

^ This is what Hound looks like. Sure, a Movie depiction will never be close to G1, but all he really needs is to be green, turn into a Jeep, and have a somewhat boxy green head without a beard. But no, you can't even be true to Hound within that vague of a description.

And even in DOTM, Sentinel Prime had a "beard", though it actually looked like mechanical cables and wires.
So, what you're saying is, he needs to be exactly like his G1 self? Because being green and turning into a Jeep and having a boxy head are his defining characteristics? Frankly, he's still green and still turns into a military vehicle (though not a jeep). The head I could do without, personally. It looks too human for a robot. Now, I don't want your heads to explode when you read the next line, but...
G1 is over, It has been for more than 20 years.
G1 is a happy part of my childhood (I'm very much a child of the 80s) too, and I still have the toys and I like the nostalgia of it all. But I think holding on to that with expectations that the live-action movies will be anything like the G1 cartoon (which was sometimes badly animated and full of plot holes big enough for Motormaster to drive through) is an exercise in futility and frustration, by this point, four movies in. The characters have the same names as many G1 characters, but the movie incarnations are vastly different. You KNOW this going into the movieverse. So why get upset about it? Either enjoy the movie (s) for being a different version of Transformers, or don't watch them or buy the toys. It seems simple enough to me.

We've been TOLD the character is meant to be hound, but we've been told that by a production that is notorious for circulating misinformation AND officially misatributing names. Brawl/Devastator, anyone? Looks like the character is probably going to be a version of bulkhead, which makes sense as Bulkhead has become a major recurring player for the brand, we'll have to wait until the movie is actually released to see what they eventually end up calling this guy officially.
Not a lot of point in pulling out the pitchforks until then, with as often as movie-news contradicts itself and changes statements.

Are people still not over the fact that these movies aren't G1? The fact that he's a green military truck should be enough.

All things Transformers draw a huge source of inspiration from G1. Hound has always been a Jeep type vehicle. We've had 3 G1 styled Hound Jeep Transformers toys in the past decade so this is still a pretty fresh concept in people's minds. With that said, Bulkhead would seem like a logical choice here since it looks like a Bulkhead type vehicle, is big, and is green. Hound is a scout, Bulkhead is a warrior. A Wrecker! What's the point in using the character names if you are just going to misrepresent the character?
I really enjoy the Transformers movies. I think they've been a lot of fun. They're not masterpieces and I don't expect them to be considering the source. In spite of themselves, the TF movies have a lot of problems with them including a lot of Bayisms. That doesn't meant that those of us who are frustrated with Hound being reduced to any ol' green military truck like vehicle can't vocalize our opinions and express that we think that there are better alternatives for names and characterizations.

Why is someone else's quote being attributed to me?
Having said that, I get the metal-looking, angular beards and facial hair - Alpha Trion, Unicron, Scourge etc - but I don't get the "robotic representation of realistic facial hair" bit. I mean, what does it accomplish? Is it designed to keep their faces warm? Or are they just a bunch of wanna-be hipsters with fixie bicycles and flannel shirts done up to the top button?

Thanks Seibertron for backing up the ones who are simply expressing their views, which happen to be anti-bay hound.
I like the part where someone said he doesn't like G1 Hound's face coz it looked too human, but likes this
I have no problems with facial hair on robots, as mentioned with Scourge, Alpha Trion, etc. Who knows what its for. Maybe in alt mode, it forms some integral conduits. They are aliens, and as long as its Transformers, we can usually explain it away with the fact that we just don't understand, or it just isn't explained.
What I do have a problem with, has already been mentioned, and that is the huge diversion that Bayformers is from all other Transformers lore I have seen/read. The roles the robots play are so interchangeable anyway, it barely matters if he is a huge military truck, or a smaller jeep, because these characters probably won't have much development anyway.
Which brings me to my final point. I finally no longer care about how different (or crappy) the TF movies are. The more different, the better. I rather not see hound roll up as a jeep only to turn into some chicken-legged, dinosaur-looking insectoid with indistinguishible shape and form that makes me think i'm having an acid flashback.
njb902 your too late. Rule 34 man.

im getting real tired of them creating a character and slapping what ever random transformer name they feel like on it. What do they do make a character then throw a bunch of names in a hat & pick or do they set out to take fan favorite characters and make them nothing like the previous incarnations just to piss off the fans? Oh and no matter what you do bumblebee will never be badass so just stop trying, its like saying wheelie is the next rambo never going to happen.
