Finally Canada! We have an online outlet for the elusive Transformers Combiner Wars Combaticons, found today at ToysRus.ca. Only the Deluxe limbs are listed so far (Vortex, Brawl, Swindle, and Blast-Off) but hopefully Onslaught and Shockwave are soon to follow. They're all up for $17.99 (CAD) and while they're currently in stock just be aware that they may go fast! Personally, I've found comic bearing CW Deluxe's at a local Wal-Mart (Wave 4) but it may have been in error? They're the ones I bought and I haven't seen them since. So you may remember that my Blades suffered a nasty case of broken 5mm port not too long ago. Well, now my Alpha Bravo is on the road to suffering the same fate. I went to put him on Defensor to temporarily replace Blades, and discovered to my horror a large hairline crack running down the side of the socket!
It appears the mold is fundamentally flawed. Comparing it to my other CW figures, it seems this mold has a particularly thin wall on the port, which makes it prone to cracking.
It's certainly put a dampener on my anticipation for UW Bruticus, given that Vortex is made from the same mold.
TLDR: Don't buy the CW helicopters.

Ugh, it seems the Combiner Wars line is just riddled with small flaws, makes me somewhat happy for skipping it altogether despite my overall love for combining robots. Loose joints I can handle somewhat, it's cracking joints that really gets me. Really doesn't do my paranoia for breaking or otherwise damaging figures any favors...

See, this makes we want Quickslinger more than I already do. Shame that it would be more worth it to buy the whole UW or G2 Superion than just CW Quickslinger on his own.

I haven't noticed any cracks in my helicoptors and I was just messing around with them a few days ago. I also finally found my perfect combination for Cyclonus (don't have pics, forget to take before I left, so they'll come next week) with Trailbreaker as the right arm, Hound at left, Smokescreen as a left leg and mirage as a right leg. And the colors really work with him too. Really rich color scheme!

Depends on what you think looks good, if you don't mind mixing allegiances, the aerialbots look nice, and you can even mix then in with blast-off and vortex; otherwise, I have him sporting the stunticons. Personally, I really like the reverse combaticon line up, with brawl and swindle as arms, and blast-off and vortex as legs

I *think* the general consensus is that Galvatronus being a Decepticon, should be paired up with Decepticons (even though truly he can be with anyone) but I digress... Stunticons & Combaticons are the only two options really (or a mix/match thereof). Thus the reason it is so refreshing to see TT bringing us 4 "new" decepticon characters to be limbs for Grand Galvatron.
Also...I'm thinking we will see UW-06 before the end of April, and UW-07 should be sometime in June.

On Galvatronus limbs:
If you take all the pics that were just posted, you probably get pretty much any combo you could imagine. With the mold reuse in the line (not a criticism), if you can just imagine different decos on all the bots you see, than there you have all the different combination options.
It's kind of fun and funny really.

The wave 6 autobots actually look better with him. I have the 3 minus Wheeljack on him with Mirage from wave 4 and it looks really good. and thanks to MTMTE where they are all shipmates, it makes sense

Just dropped by to say, that Sky Lynx's weapons are SO frickin' awesome

Oh boy, yet ANOTHER use of the Dead End/Streetwise mold. Just what we wanted. At least it isn't that bloody helicopter mold.
Strafe and Afterburner look interesting, but the rest are completely dull. Scattorshot at least looks less awful than the initial release, but Nosecone is just Brawl with a drill and Lightspeed is literally just Streetwise. Between that, the fact they've abandoned any attempt at parts integration, and my generally sh*tty experiences with CW...yeah, I'm going with Quantron, assuming I even bother with Computron.
Strafe and Afterburner look interesting, but the rest are completely dull. Scattorshot at least looks less awful than the initial release, but Nosecone is just Brawl with a drill and Lightspeed is literally just Streetwise. Between that, the fact they've abandoned any attempt at parts integration, and my generally sh*tty experiences with CW...yeah, I'm going with Quantron, assuming I even bother with Computron.

New hands and feet confirmed, new decco for scattorshot confirmed.
Heavy retool on groove into afterburner, lightspeed is the streetwise mold, heavy retool on airraid into strafe, and out little buddy scrounge is in the mix with targetmaster partner too.
Most excitingly: New feet, with rocker ankles, and brand new hands.

It's amazing how good he looks with those feet and hands. He doesn't even need the PE upgrade set. He looks like a really good transformer.

Thats straight up false, BOTH the combiner head and combiner torso is integrated in Scattershot, which was not the case with the G1 toy.

Who knows, maybe they took the light bar off. It seems they put quite a bit of effort into this set so I think it's in the realm of possibility.

Is it just my browser or is this picture cropped? I cannot see the English Bio, nor can I see the far right of the image. Still this looks amazing. Cant wait to see the whole thing. I'm glad they corrected the head color for Computron. Also...If this does make it as a UW, I wonder if this will be the first UW with a 6th member, or will the just cut Scrounge? I'm thinking they'll probably cut him as he was an obscure character in the US Marvel comic, and not known in Japan, or how odd would it be if they changed him back to Cosmos .

The SW version of the mold has always held together better than my DE, who's legs separate and the combiner peg falls out if you so much as look at it funny. While that might not happen with every DE, I'd rather not take the chance.
And besides, you can't see the lightbar in combined mode, which is the way I'll be displaying him.
Anyway, as for my opinion on Comps himself, he can't come out soon enough. I'm excited to get the Groove mold, and he has two of my favorite limb molds and my favorite torso mold. Plus, new hands and feet so I don't have spend $40 dollars on the PE kit.
