This was way overpriced to start with and the drop still leaves it way overpriced.

My TRU also marked down YOTH Starscream down to $99.99

An entire $10?! WOW!!!

As for Magnus, I agree with the above posts.

I did not say it was great, just that it had happened.

Just saw this today @ my local TRU.
Agreeing with the above voices about it still being too high priced.

This is its marked down price?
It'd have to be $30 or less for me to even consider buying this gimmicky, near-brickish thing.

Not kicking myself for buying it as part of a larger coupon deal in December, since for all we knew then it could've sold out by now, and I would be kicking myself for missing out on the Forge of Fix-It Felix Solus Prime.
But I am kicking myself for not buying Waspinator's casemates instead at the time. With so much TF awesomeness this past holiday rush, none of us could make all the right collecting calls, right?
I agree with some complaints about the mold, but it's still my favorite fully-official Magnus since RID.

$12 Predaking has me spoiled.

Right now, the best deal I know of is a sale Meijer is having through early April on Construct-Bots and (I think) Cyberverse. C-Bots Op vs. Megs marked down to $30 seems like a way bigger joke than this Magnus clearance if you bought, say, three when they were under $6 at Target, but full pegs of $7 C-Bot Starscreams are something to get excited about if you see him as a potential army builder for the G2 Cybertronians.
There has to be one other fan besides me who also thinks that, right?
EDIT: Another potential positive about him simply being clearanced is that TRU has had several sales that take an additional percentage off all clearance items over the past few months, which could put him within reasonable range for anyone on the fence. I'll try to post ASAP the next time that happens.

And it has me hitting at least one Target every time I'm out, looking for the next break in their PRising exclusives, wondering which I should just buy while I still can.Noideaforaname wrote:$12 Predaking has me spoiled.

Still overpriced, especially for a figure that looks like a large KO.
This IS surprising, though. Traditionally, TRU NEVER marks down exclusives.

Well, considering the figure, and the price to which they've "marked it down", I guess they still think it piracy, and are thus willing to go through with it.
TRU is great for sales and last-resort searches, but I can't be expected to pay their marked-up prices when on a budget.

Big deal, I bought mine for 18.96 at target last fall. I mean , this is essentially the same exact figure, but with a different color scheme. Even $50 is a rip for this thing.

Are we talking Weaponizer Prime here? If so, you're paying extra for the new head, shoulder kibble and hammer
And I see markdowns like that occasionally in my local stores. I'll agree with everyone: overpriced. Drop it by 25% to 50% then we'll talk business.

I just came back from my local TRU, and also found:
Platinum UM for $49.99
Platinum Starscream for $99.99 (this appears to be a new permanent price, not a temporary sale price) - and lots of them in stock (nobody appears to be buying them)
Lots of Generations Voyagers, including Grimlock, Blaster, and others.
Several YOTH OPs. (Doesn't look like anyone wants it.)

This week there is also a 20% coupon for any item in-store at Toys R Us too ..so that drops it down a little more. Still pricy and I wish I had waited when I got mine. Oh well.

It's good for 20% off one REGULAR-PRICED toy item, so if it's on Clearance, you might not be able to use the coupon for Ultra Magnus.

Fifty bucks is the CLEARANCE price?
This, TRU, is why most of your stuff remains on the shelf for months at a time.
