Transformers Universe: Bumblebee News Roundup

Two things going on in the world of the Transformers Universe: Bumblebee film here, the first is that MercuryNews goes over the history of the filming in Santa Cruz and the subsequent renaming to "Brighton Falls" for the Bumblebee production itself. The article speaks of how filming in Santa Cruz is important for the local economy too. It's worth a read through for those interested in film and the impact on a local economy with it. Here is a little blurb about that fact:

“Having movies filmed in Santa Cruz is great for the overall local economy. Local jobs, visitor serving retail and restaurants all have a boost whenever a film crew comes to town,” Lipscomb said. “Having numerous films shot in Santa Cruz raises our profile in general and can be a draw for tourists as well. Yes, we highly support having Santa Cruz as a location for the film industry.”

The second if the announcement from the CBS local affiliate in California that filming in Santa Cruz has wrapped.

Fellow Seibertronian Stuartmaximus has found a youtube video from CineMovie which has Peter Cullen confirming that you will hear his voice in the upcoming Bumblebee Live Action film. He is short and to the point with his "yes" as you can see below.
We do not know if that means the film will begin in current times and be told as an older tale or if we will hear the voice through narration or even if Peter Cullen will be voicing Optimus Prime at all, though it is what everyone would assume.

I can see this as a cameo from when he contacts Bee, a flashback from a battle on Cybertron, or Cullen mimics Stan Lee.

Always thought that Prime would have a small cameo in this film.

They don't even need to show him it could probably be just his voice like the narrations from the first few films.

Maybe he could be voicing Ironhide like in the G1 cartoon?

But Ironhide in the movies doesn't sound like G1 Ironhide.

Yes, but the point here is not a "it's not like muh G1" general statement, it's saying that Movie Ironhide not sounding like G1 Ironhide is evidence against Peter Cullen voicing Movie Ironhide like G1 Ironhide.

I doubt that Cullen would voice Ironhide since we have Jess Harnell for that and the big guy doesn't land on Earth until 2007.

Unless that one art piece in TLK retcons Ironhide as having been on Earth in the 19th Century.

Maybe people got used to him to voice Optimus, but the fact that Peter Cullen still returns to the role should not be taken for granted.

The transformers community can get very ungrateful and will always ask for more. its just a thing to expect now.

We have another small update from the set of Transformers Universe: Bumblebee, as fellow Seibertronian Scottimus Prime has pointed us towards the Instagram account of lead actor Hailee Steinfeld and the latest image posted - featuring a similar wheel and dashboard layout for Bumblebee as we first saw him in the 2007 live action movie! Check it out below.

Funny seeing that again, when I saw the first TF film as a wee little boy, I always thought that pressing the Autobot insignia would cause Bumblebee to transform. Maybe it was because it looked like a separate piece when Sam lightly pressed it.

It was a separate piece, yes. It was the button for the car's horn.
