Video Review - Robots in Disguise Warrior Thunderhoof

Posted by no-one Jan 11, 2016 at 6:36pm CST 27,123 views
Fresh off the YouTube presses fellow Seibertronian and everyone's old pal chuckdawg1999 has posted a video review of the much anticipated Robots in Disguise Warrior class Thunderhoof.

Here is what chuckdawg1999 had to say about Thunderhoof:

After roughly a year we're finally getting a steady trickle of Decepticons in the Robots In Disguise line. I think out of all the Decepticons Thunderhoof pulls off the animal/robot hybrid. My one complaint is the shoulders are kinda hard to work with, but you can pull off dynamic poses. I really can't say one way or another if this is a must buy.

Considering how hard they tried to work a whole new transformation into him, something ended up giving. It really is interesting that the head is by the wheels on the legs and the arms are the back opposite the head. Very intricate. But the arms are a slight damper, but he still looks amazing. The colors and head are so cool. and the legs look really dope! :BOT:

Am I really everyone's old pal? Am I yours?

Just in case anyone missed it in my other review, and by the numbers it looks like they have; in the shoulder of Optimus Prime from the Minicon Battle pack there's a slot, this allows the ax to be stored in vehicle mode. Very close to the Warrior Class version.

I hate to be one that makes assumptions; how about "generally nice guy and new acquaintance"?

I just picked up BP OP this weekend (about to drop some pics in my neck of the woods) and I noticed that as well. As a bonus the axe can also store in "super axe" mode. And if you're feeling real froggy, you can shove the axe in his backpack.

Quillfire is mistransformed in these quick pictures that I took. I'll get them corrected for the gallery.

I wish Thunderhoof had a lower helmet to visible face ratio. While I will get both these guys, they dont look like they can beat either Fracture of Megatronus.

Quillfire's transformation reminds me of Beast Hunters Bulkhead.

Fracture sets the bar pretty high. THoof is looking a little disappointing, but the RID line hasn't let me down yet (that includes OP).

That BH Bulk is a fun figure and I can feel that. When I saw the first pics of Quillfire, I thought he was made from a heavily retooled Strongarm base. I guess an SUV looks like an SUV looks like an SUV, no matter what color it's cast in.

But Ryan, some of the Beast Hunters toys (like Bumblebee) had swirly plastic and they weren't fragile.

Swirly brown or gold plastic?

Thunderhoof'll be fine for me with a little paint touch up, though I understand if people want to see if TAV has a more exact paint scheme.

Honestly, I'm just happy to have (collectively) a whole wave's worth of Decepticon. :CON:

Is that an unused quill/shiv in the lower left of Quillfire's packaging?
