Autobot032 wrote:HP might be great for the here and now, but we have no idea what the long term effects are. It's literally changing the chemical makeup of the plastics to create that recoloring effect. Same with dye, but it's not nearly as harsh as HP. Though you have to be careful not to get the water too hot, otherwise you'll warp the plastic.

I believe Counterpunch can shed more light on this comment, but I believe reversible is the wrong term. I think it's being changed further and the fact that it looks white again is just a side effect.

Don't do it to an old 70s\80s Kenner one, though - they're mainly rubber and aren't made of very good materials.

Intah-wib-buls?

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Counterpunch wrote:Knowing that, without a few years of time gone by, we will not know if the plastic will stay the same, re-yellow, or deteriorate from the treatment.
It may be just fine and a great solution. Or 5 years from now, we may have plastic pieces falling apart left and right due to the treatment. We don't know yet.
