LOL, feets. I see your keyboard is still broken!
Amazing work though! You should probably win some awards for this one. The only things that bother me are the really thin hips. The original Metroplex didn't have much in the way of hips either so I guess it's not so bad.
I'm glad you've picked this one back up!

I've seen a lot of custom charaters and terrain for some war games I play and I have to say, even unfinished as he is, this project takes the cake (and the pie, too).
In city mode, he looks better than professional war game terrain made for photoshoots by large companies. People that specialize in simply making terrain and are paid to do don't match this level of exellence.
Once you add to that the fact that the entire thing transforms into a gianormous robot and you've reached a level I've never seen. Once this project is compleat, if I where you, I'd start assembling a portfolio and looking for a job in the modeling industry. I'm serious, you could easily go pro. (On the other tentacle, perhaps you really love your current job.)
This has got to be the greatest peice of fan art, for any franchise, in any media, ever! The only thing I've seen that even comes close was a set of full size, wearable, armor based on a character in Warmachine. (It was Colman Striker's Warcaster Armor, for those that know the game).
I really hope to see this compleated and will be watching this thread for updates. Hopefully you can get this accepted at whichever Botcon falls after the compleation. I always thought that really large transformers that wheren't to scale where silly. (Although I understand the pratical marketing reasons for them). It's nice to see someone step up and do one of these characters proper justice. If the con organizers don't see fit to allow it in, they really do have no clue.
Finally, just a few suggestions. Perhaps you've already considered this, but I think the question of eye color could be solved by having both. If you made the eyes light up using side lit plexi, you could alternate red and blue LEDs and then have a switch to change the color. (You could even light up both for purple. No basis for that, but the slight changes to the wiring required would add yet another feature. If you used a three position switch with the order blue -> purple -> red, then you could slide the switch all the way and his eyes would do a cool transition.)
Have you considered motorizing the visor, like you plan to do with the bridges? Obviously, one could go overboard with putting motors all over the place and doom the project, but I think the visor might be worthy of such attention. It would also give him an automated feature in bot mode, as well as the one already planed for alt mode.
Finally, a bit of advice for any inhabitants of autobot city. Clearly Metroplex is shifting a lot of mass into subspace when he transforms. Please do not leave any enegon lying around. We'd all hate to have an accident.
Best of luck and keep up the good work.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Much doffing of the hat to you sir (i.e congrats on a job well done)
i do have a few questions though. once all the paint has been applied etc, are you going to pick out a lot of the detail? the reason i ask is because looking at the head before and after it is painted, there is a lot of detail on the helmet, if you will, that just vanishes into the black paint. i'm wondering if you would do something to bring out the details maybe? and the same with the helmet antennae?
perhaps a wash of a darker colour paint? i.e a deep red or almost black to give it some depth of shadow or to make the raised areas 'pop' a little more?
i'm not too sure what it is about the face that makes it seem 'flat' and 'lifeless' in terms of having been painted? i'ts just my thoughts that maybe painting panel lines on certain areas just to break up the majority of the flat areas? i.e using fine tipped black marker pen for this, as it would make it seem like his face is constructed of many panels and not one huge sheet?
I can understand that this is still W.I.P but just my thoughts on some of the areas so that it makes it have an extra layer of depth to it.
Keep pluggin away at it, and I;m looking forwards to seeing more work done!
