This *is* a Perfect Effect Combiner Wars Upgrade Kit thread, pertaining to Superion. You're more than welcome (encouraged, actually) to start a new thread about a potential Perfect Effect enhancement set for Victorion. I'd imagine they're wanting to do one for her as well. Please, you or someone else, go and start a thread about her upgrades and what you think they might turn out to be.

Because this thread is about Superion's upgrade kit. Unfortunately it involved other combiners here and there because PE decided to use the same sets for each combiner. However, now that we know Victorion is coming and that she'll be sporting new feet, I'd imagine PE will produce a set for her that's more appropriate to the combiner's design. In that new thread (HINT HINT) you guys can discuss her upgrades to your hearts content!

Discussion, especially new discussion is encouraged on the boards, we welcome it, we just need you guys to do it in the right threads and forums. This time? Right forum, wrong thread.

There will be no more cross contaminating of these threads and derailments.

So to paraphrase what youve just said...

Official hasbro threads get "merged" but everytime Perfect Effect makes the same set in a different color, it gets a new thread ?

Personally I think you should pull a Play With This Too and merge all the Perfect Effect threads...but thats your call. See you on the proper thread.

And I disagree. In my opinion, the problem started due to a second color (purple) for the same product being offered which was to be used with a different character (Menasor). That product was added into the "Superion Upgrade" discussion instead of it's own thread which could've been "Menasor Upgrade". Frankly, it's only a recolor and could be used with either figure and is only differentiated due to our knowledge of the history of these characters.

Cut to now, where there are 3 differently colored versions of the same product (black, purple, and white), an upgrade kit specific to Superion (PC-03), one specific for Menasor (PC-04), two different kits for CW Constructicons/Devastator, and a new kit for CW Optimus Prime. As much as possible, I don't think we need separate threads for each and every product as much as for each character/group. And we have that currently, even a wish list for the Victorion set (thanks to Autobot032 for the prodding). Now that's we've settled that, if there are any more Perfect Effect kits offered for other groups we'll just need to open a new thread for them.

Those are good points. But remember play with this too had many different characters from different proposed molds and it got a thread merge. So with this many products the threads are starting to get ridiculous. Next thing you know we will get asked to create a thread to discuss the topic of potentially merging PE threads. I would support leaving devastator in a seperate thread because his parts are not scramble city. But I think a PE scramble city CW upgrades thread is the best way to go in my opinion. "Catch All" threads have been created here before, most famously for Dr. Wu whos various upgrades were also for different characters.

Having a "Scramble City-style" upgrades thread seems like a good idea, with the separated Constructicon/Devastator thread. I'd back that, if these various threads get too unruly.

True. Its probably the best thing. You know a grey set for bruticus is coming. And colored sets for the G2 versions and Victorion. Maybe somesthing for sky lynx as well. Thats a lot of threads. Sometimes I feel the staff gets over sensitive about whats "off topic". I could understand if we started talking about ninja turtles, but theres nothing but Perfect Effect talk going on around here. And then when they jump in the middle of a conversation and say "actually were not talking about that here" seems just a tad bit rude. What they really should have said is "please dont discuss that here" which sounds alot more respectful. Im not putting down any of the staff or mods, I just think certain things could be phrased better. And just like with play with this too, thread merging certain companies with tons of products can help minimize accusations of what is truly "off topic".

If there is not separate thread for the purple version already then merging in all the others is simply done that way isn't it ?

I won't get to much into the mental gymnastic required of how or where to discuss mixing and matching different companies upgrades would go But as the PE kit for Superion seems to be being sold in two parts people might like to use the PE chest & head with someone else's hands and feet, especially if they have no need for the weapon modes on the PW ones. or simply because they'd like different designs in place for the different combiners.

As near as I can tell this thread had kinda turned into a catchall for PE's CW upgrades that aren't mold specific (the hands and feet). Might I add that at the time this thread started, I believe the only upgrade set made known to the public was the Superion one.

I have the black set with Defensor. Even apart and as weapons, I'm really liking the playability of this set. I need to ship my POL so I can get the white ones with my Aerialbots...

Well, since all I wanted was the hands and feet, I am glad I didn't have to buy a new head and chest plate I didn't want. So, to each their own.

I didn't mean it MUST be all sold as 1 unit, it's fine to sell them separately. But there should be an option for those who want all of it to buy it all at once, perhaps for a bit lower price than the total of the separate sets.

Well, it seems someone started a "catch all" thread. If mods don't have the power to alter existing thread titles (Which would be odd...What if someone makes an explicitly offensive thread title?) we at least know they can merge threads. So either we could ask them to merge threads, or we could just take all PE Combiner Wars upgrade kit discussion there ourselves, and let this thread fade away naturally as that one takes over.

As for the blue Optimus kit... Well, since that isn't strictly Superion related, I suppose I'll answer that question over at the aforementioned other thread!

The Optimus set is one I will not be buying, unless PE drops the ball and doesn't do a set in light blue foe G2 Superion, then this might be a decent alternative. I have no desire to have Super Prime or Galvatronus combiners on my shelves. Way too left field.

Probably the very end of August when it hits US retailers.

My Superion and Menasor kit were delivered whilst I was watching this. Can't promise it will happen for you guys though.
