That at least explains the domestic prices (though it's a dangerous thing to do with no telling what the exchange rate will be like in May), but doesn't explain the difference in Big in Japan's prices. Seems like it'll be a more expensive figure despite the Targetmaster countering the extra parts. Taking a moment to do the math it looks like he'll be 15,000 JPY (based on being 20% off) instead of the 14,000 JPY of Inferno and Grapple (at 25% off).

Domestic online stores just overcharge a bit until they get the full price quote.

It's only less because they raised Inferno's price after release. He was originally 10,490 JPY.

I don't really have any childhood attachment to any character this mold carries, other than fire truck robot man is bad ass. I was going to hold out for Grapple just because he gets less love, and frankly my MP display is heavy on red. I knew nothing about Artfire, so I did a little research. Now I do.

I'm totally holding out for this version, if for nothing else then this amazing deco with those out-a-sight 80's tampos/decals. The Targetmaster doesn't hurt anything either.

Just watched Bobby Skullface's review of MP Inferno, thought he looked cool, already had MP Grapple on pre order at TFL, and now I'm thinking of jumping ship to this guy. Like you Cobotron I did my research, and I can't have just one TargetmasterMP on my shelf! Fire truck robot man with little gun robot man for the win!!!

Too bad Takara didn't re-issue the G1 ver of this guy as all the molds are readily available (well the modified ladder should be available too)

Something tells me that the lax reception towards both the Takara and the Hasbro reissues of Stepper had a hand in there being no Artfire reissue.

Artfire was on Hasbro's short list for the Commemorative Series, but it ended before any planning could be done.

I can't find the actual Artfire MP-37 thread so I'll post this here. Since there has been precedent of comparing 3rd party images in the official thread, I'll be doing it here.

The unofficial counterpart Kojin & Nightbeam also has gone for the voodoo ladder style. A kind of the KOer copying the original this time.So now, the selling point of the 3rd party Inferno was that the product had more molding details but had that ladder hanging out in the back. So now (I wonder if Takara trademarked their ladder magic?) 3rd part MT has also (?) copied/borrowed/adapted this feature.

The Artfire mold seems to be the most complete of the Inferno mold what with more paint apps and molding details (it seems anyway from the current images)

As some have want presented their frustrations with Inferno being too "anime accurate" (i.e. flat and no details) it's highly probable that Takara might re-release this, Artfire, as ultimate MP version of Inferno to counterbalance the 3rd party version.

Well, after seeing some talk about it in the MP Inferno thread, I pre-ordered this guy from TFsource. Ladder magic and an MP targetmaster were too much to resist.
