Flux Convoy wrote:The bickering, the ill-informed, the whining, the child-like behaviour...ahhh Seibertron. I've missed you baby. Feh, I attended the last 3 years and got those seekers, love them. I want these too. When we got TC for Botcon it WAS an exclusive. It's been so for over a year now. Takara fires up their own version of the line and BAM! They can do whatever they like. Literally. I'm not bitching, I don't care really except for the fact I'll be buying these guys again. It makes me happy that others now get the opportunity. What doesn't is that people will still whine and complain and quite possibly not buy them because of the price points they will be demanding. My immediate thoughts are pony up or shut up. See, this is exactly why I don't post so often anymore. Makes me feel angry and negative. The very thing I despise. Eh, there are enough folks that know Flux is a jerk!![]()

Who would dare think the "Fistn' Piston'" is a jerk?
You work literally twice as hard as everyone else!
(Yea, it's an inside joke. Go to BotCon yourself ya n00bs and then you'll be in the know.)

So much useless prattle.
The thing I'm looking forward to most other than the figure release themselves are the number of Thundercracker related web comics which will doubtless start showing themselves in the coming days.
I hope Matt Moylan doesn't let me down come Monday morning!

The only part of Henkei Thundercracker that I like better, judging by those pics, are the launchers. Every other difference is negligible, IMO.
Yes, I have BotCon Thundercracker. I got the whole set as part of my "BotCon Experience", and when you divide it up I only payed around 50$ on him individually. I spent a lot of money to go to BotCon with the "whole package", with the exclusive toys and flying to Providence from Montreal on a Canadian holiday weekend. And, yet, I've left my BotCon exclusive box set in the box and on a shelf. To me, the toys were a very secondary thing compared to the memories I have of BotCon and the memories that those toys conjur up.
The Henkei/Botcon toys are different enough from eachother to not, in my mind, change the way I feel about the BotCon Thundercracker. He is, and always will be, the recognizable BotCon toy. For character collectors it won't matter which version they get, but for those who want a BotCon version it will still hold the same value. These are still exclusives, no matter what you say. They won't be unlimited production and will still demand decent prices, either or.
Now, can anyone tell me how much that Clear Convoy might go for?
Can you or any owner of Botcon TC tell me whether his vertical tailfins are colored blue or are black with the classics stripes? Because on the web, I found pics of both versions...

In essence, this is sad, people will see less incentive for going to Botcon and possibly end the convention. I frown upon TakaraTomys decision as not only a fan, but a collector.
If cheap enough, I may order it. Still, some part of me agonizes over this release. It’s not fair to those who went to Botcon, its not fair to Botcon.
I get the feeling that a greedy side of the fandom will cheer about this for a long time, another side, may just leave forever.
Shame on those who demanded this release, shame on Takara for going through with it and shame on Hasbro for allowing this to happen back in 06...
Shame, SHAME!
Oh, good grief.
So, it was fair that the remaining seekers were unavailable to a large part of the fandom, but it's not fair to botcon that now a single seeker from that set, with a different paint job, is being released in limited numbers in a different country?
Tekka wrote:It's all a matter of personal perspective, as is everything. If you feel you have been slighted, just wipe away your tears and trudge on through life. It would seem that not everyone can be happy in every situation, and is a moment for the second chancers to celebrate their good fortune.

Last I heard, this Thundercracker is about as limited as fruit at the store. They’ll be making as many as they get Preorders for, THERE IS NO LIMIT.
And no, it’s not fair at all. I’m sure there are a lot of people here who understand me saying this. Put your self in their shoes for a change, you save up a TON of money, take off from work, get on a plane, get you’re overpriced toys that were never supposed to be released anywhere else, then two years later, they release what is virtually THE SAME THING.
Look at Getterdragun, he wouldn’t have gone to that Botcon if he had known it would be released like this. No where near as many people wouldn’t have gone, but they were told this would be the only way to get their seekers. So much for that.
Now, doesn’t any of that sound the least bit unfair to you?

While I agree with you on principal, why was this so hard to understand prior to Henkei Thundercracker?
If I told people to "get over it and move on" in regards to BotCon, I'm a jerk and elitist.
(neither of which I have a problem with, just saying...ya know?)

Go ahead and mention the taunting that went on between me and a friendly rival over the matter. Try to make me look like a jerk in all of this.
You fail to mention my advocacy for people to buy these things when they were first available.
You fail to mention the people that I help out in regards to BotCon.
You fail to mention the downright immense amount of time I put into making sure fellow collectors are properly informed on these issues.
Congrats on actually pissing me off in regards to all of this, that's genuinely not easy.

You are wrong and your opinion on the matter is wrong.
Read up on what the more experienced collectors have put down and respect that they're taking time to give out good advice next time.
