I think when it comes to the Vehicons, they've gained more popularity than expected due to the fans naming them "Steve" and having it snowball from there.

Plus they're the Transformer equivalent of a Storm Trooper, high in numbers, low in firepower, couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

And they honestly do look good.

I have that Beast Hunters Ratchet and I love him too. Its a killer sculpt and the base mold has a phenomenal transformation. I really like those side panels in vehicle mode becoming the arms. There is a lot going on in that deluxe. This really is a line with incredible molds.

Also D-Max, I was trying to keep it vague in my quote above:

The only competition that mold has (I guess) would be with animated Ratchet. I only have the cybertronian version of animated ratchet and I dont know if it is better than the Prime one or not. :-? And no worrys about spoiling, you are excited about it and thats fun :)

I still think that is the best mold. very little kibble that sticks out, cool head reveal, most of the CGI form is mimicked naturally. I love it so much :BOT:

Actually what I contributed was several ideas to help enhance Williams creativity when creating future lists. Ive pointed this out to him before and he knows how to take constructive criticism with stride. Well my personal list in in the sig. Major disappointments for me included not being able to get a vehicon yet and ultra magnus not having his own character model in the show. Otherwise I really thoroughly enjoyed the show which sucked me into branching out into collecting the toys as well (I usually focus on the g1 related lines)
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

I'm not offended. I'm merely stepping in as a staff member to deal with complaints about posts made by YOU.

The one thing I neglected to mention, but did so later on, was if you have those ideas, why not write them yourself?

Come on Rated X, you complain so much on this site, you antagonize, your criticize, well here's your chance. You want to see those ideas of yours posted? Then write them up. Contribute something positive to this site for once.

That's my challenge to you. I'll even sweeten the deal for you. For every two articles you post, I'll remove one of your warnings. Considering you're on your last chance, this will be a great way to get rid of some of those pesky warnings you have hanging over your head.

Put up, or shut up. :-D

Ill accept your challenge. I was under the assumption the "Top 5" was Williams thing but if he doesnt mind me contributing then Im down. As long as my work is credited because I dont do ghostwriting. But saying I havent contributed anything positive to this site is a little harsh. Ive submitted several of my customs to Transtopia section of this site including verbiage accompanying the pictures. Ive also reviewed Hercules in great detail for Yotosan's 3rd party site. And I do plenty of fly swatting in the "unofficial" section...free of charge. ;)

Let me come up with something and Ill shoot you a PM when I got it ready. You know my writing style very well. Expect vintage X. :CON:

It's true that most toys of these lines were amazing. So, I'll have to think outside the box and let me come with a list of my own:

# 5 -- First Edition deluxe Megatron.

Yeah, it's the deluxe but who give a crap about scale when the toy is 100% show accurate in both modes? It's also feel way more solid and transform way better than the Prime RID Voyager mold. Truly, that Megs is one of the best Megatron toys ever!

Image
Image

# 4 -- Beast Hunters Cyberverse Bludgeon.

This may be a very odd choice, but that Shockwave repaint is DA BOMB! It's very well painted and have a very intimidating bot mode. And that headsculpt is spot on. Amazingly, I find his altmode work better for him tham Shockwave. So, why chose him over the iconic Shocky? I think more colors and a less boring face make all the difference.

Image
Image

# 3 -- Prime RID Hotshot.

Haters gonna hate, the Prime Bumblebee mold is AMAZING. It's fun to fiddle with and give a great bot mode and vehicle mode. However, at that time, we are still neck deep in the Hive. Enough Bees was enough. So, a Bee mold that is NOT Bee was what the doctor ordered. That metalic shiny blue all over. These painted details. And that amazing head with functioning visor! Truly, Bee had to NOT being Bee to be great!

Image
Image

# 2 -- Prime 1st Edition Bulkhead.

This one will surprize no one. I chose him over Prime RID Vehicon because I find Vehicon boring. 1st Ed Bulkhead, however, have some mind-blowing engeneering. It start with a very compact, almost old deluxe size vehicle. That vehicle is perfect and have no robot parts visible at all. Then, the transformation. That transformation is so incredible, it's like dark magic! All the panels fold out to become Bulky's bulking belly! Everything fold and pull out from itself to finally make a bot that is solid voyager size, almost 3 times as huge as his vehicle mode! Oh yeah, and near perfect show-accuracy is the cherry on top of that legendary sunday.

Image
Image

# 1 -- Beast Hunters "voyager" cyberverse-enhanced Predaking.

I hear you going "WAAAAAAAAT?" from here. Yeah, for me, that Predaking is the top of that generation. Yeah, h's hollow all-over. Yes, he miss some articulation points. Yeas, he's not show accurate at all. But for me, these flaws are completely overshadowed by the overall greatness of that figure. First, he's not a voyager, despite being classified officially as such. He's HUGE. Classic Ultra class at the very least. Second, he's amazing looking in both modes, yes, even with the derpy tail-sword. The clear-smokey plastic is genius and he have a buckload of paint aps. Finally, he's really, really fun to play with. Really. It's fun to transform, it transform quick and fast, and is very articulated all over. Also, it's not just a cyberverse upscale. It's completely new engeneering BASED on the cyberverse. I know because I do have the Cyberverse Predaking mold and it don't hold a candle to the greatness of ULTRA Predaking!

So, what do you think of my list? :KREMZEEK:

@Kanrabat, very interesting list. I must say that simplified Predaking looks better than the regular voyager predaking, and Hot shot does have a cool head. I like it, and I'll agree to some very valid points.

I agree with a lot of this list - now - some folks here have made points that got me to change my mind on some things :) Because I thought FE Bulkhead and FE Cliffjumper were just the best best mostest wonderfullest transformers ever, but compared to the transformations of the vehicon and wheeljack - and the fun factor in transforming them - they are a step behind. Because Bulkhead and Cliffjumper are a bitch to transform. They just have such AWESOME robot modes.

I never got ratchet, because i read so many bad reviews of him :(

I'm surprised that starscream FE made the list, but you make another good case. He's a toy that is full of character, and often was my favorite desk toy.

FE Arcee was quite good, but that big-ass wheel on her back always detracted.

Soundwave was a favorite, too, just wanted some better paint.

Yeah this guy is awesome and he even comes with his own Star Sabre! Its also awesome how they retooled his chest to make it look like a skull.

I love the rest of your list and you are very convincing in me wanting to get everything I dont have on there. I was even looking on e-bay to see what the prices were for some. That Predaking for instance looks so much sleeker than the cyberverse it is based on. I cant even see its split Dragon heads from that angle, and those wings are awesome.

So yeah, amazing list!

A few things I wanted to saw in general after reading the comments. I am glad everyone likes the Wheeljack toy as much as me and I find it cool that it is actually based on an actual concept by Lancia. While I use Wheeljack, my compliments are really towards the mold so Deadend is just as valid on this list. It's the general mold that wins the spot.

And lastly, I am surprise to see not one person mention FE Prime so far. I see Arcee and even the Kup/Ironhide mold mentioned instead. Thats awesome but also quite hard to believe. I mean this is the best toy list, not the best character list ;) Is there any reason no one else includes them on their top list so far? And am I to take it that FE Bulkhead and, say, AM Ironhide are better toys in your collective eyes?

Oh and Kanrabat, I do disagree on FE Bulkead not having any robot kibble showing up in alt mode. One thing I dont like about the mold is how much undercariage you can see in truck mode, its like he has tumours growing under there:

Bulkhead is still my favorite Prime transformer, and he ranks third behind Trailbreaker and Sideswipe on my all-time favorites list. If I could afford that FE, I would so get it. the PRiD guy is cool, but just doesn't do it. But I will say BH Bulkhead is VERY BADASS. Love that mold so much!!!!!!!! :BOT:

I actually rotate PRID WJ w/ Gen WJ as my "G1/Classics-verse" version, as the Prime mould looks pretty close to his RiD incarnation, especially as drawn by Sarah Stone. A great mould it is, looking at my collection I've got Wheeljack, Dark Energon Wheeljack, AM Wild Rider, Dead End (what was going on in that designers mind? It's so ridiculous it's awesome!) and TFCC Chromedome.

I've got Dark Energon Starscream (aka Skywarp) and it's a pretty sweet mould, almost perfect show accuracy apart from the nose-cone rear-end and triple-missile package, and very poseable.

I actually use the GDO version of FE Cliff as my Classics-verse Cliffjumper as the head is spot on, and it's a different mould to Bee. It's less than accurate depiction of the in-show model when compared to the PRID version actually helps differentiate the two in my mind. I do agree that he's a bit of a pain to transform, and won't always stay pegged into place in alt-mode

I do have to agree w/ #1 though - that Vehicon mould is pure awesome. I've got every version so far released, and the TAV version on pre-order. There's not much to say that hasn't already been said.

I do like the FE Megatron mould Kanrabat posted. I don't have that particular release, but the TFCC Rampage version, and it's really fun to transform, and everything fits together nicely.

You've got a point. Prime had some great figures, but when I look back on the line I remember the frustration and boneheaded missteps they took with it. Terrible distribution, not releasing some figures in the US, my favorite character from the show getting one of the worst figures ever made.

Not bothering multi-quoting 'cause I feel lazy.

@Will
Oh yeah, 1st Ed Bulkhead DO have undercarriage in vehicle mode. However, the fact that I did not remember nor care mean that that flaw is like an ice cube thrown into the sun of his overall awesomeness! 8-)
You also did miss out big time over that "Cyberverse" ULTRA Predaking. My theory is you did not get it because you alreasy had the giant version. After owning the original voyager and Cyberverse version, and after seeing extensive video reviews of the big supreme Predaking, "Voyager" 2014 Predaking blow them all out of the sky with extreme prejudice. He was also made in limited quantities and was on TrU's shelves for a very limited time. Good luck finding it locally in the wild.
Cheapest I could find on Ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PREDAKING-TRANSF ... 1a0585fe4e
One thing that make the search not easy is that particular version don't have a distinctive name. Finally just look at the review down below to see how he work:

Seriously, That predaking is my defenitive Prime #1, simply for how awesome and FUN he is.
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK
