Aaaaaand it's not Ultra Magnus - http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... 96833.html

Leader Ultra Magnus is real. As far as this "white repaint" of Combiner Wars Optimus is, is not Ultra Magnus, based on the list and details I've seen.

Our hopes for a real Leader Ultra Magnus are safe again.

Not quite: exclusive Leader Class gift set with that White Prime, Rodimus and four other cars. That's always been my guess.

I have such mixed thoughts about this (if this were to happen). On one hand, I think the alt mode works for Magnus, the colours look great, and like the CW Optimus, it's a modern update to the Classics version.

On the other hand, I really do not want another white Prime redeco for Magnus. As much as MP Magnus looks fantastic, I really wanted them to come out with a proper blue, white and red version of Magnus, stacks an' all, to fit into the CHUG line. He really deserves his own mould, but I can get away with a Prime redeco as long as his colours are more representative of him.

I'm not really a fan of the CW Optimus mould, it jus doesn't look the right shape for me, too wide, however it would work better as Magnus because he is generally a bulkier bot. I very much doubt they'll upscale that mould to be Leader sized, so the previous rumours of a Leader Magnus make me question what we're really going to see. Otherwise, it would work quite well. This Voyager Prime mould is a big boy and a Magnus in this mould next to the Classics Prime would scale nicely for me.

As for the Legends Rodimus...not so sure whether I like that. I'd rather the opposite, that they make a new version of him that is bigger than the Classics/Henkei version. I can't justify spending the money of Cloud Rodimus, but that Voyager size would be great. Although I understand that he'd not be a combining figure if he was Voyager sized, and I don't know how many figures HasTak intend to release this year that are Deluxe/Voyager/Leader size that don't take part in the combining gimmick. Megatron is one, but I think they're going to push with the combining idea and not release many more Generations figures that aren't combiners.

Hmmmm... Supreme Class, mistaken/marketed as Leader? :saint:

I kid, but that white Prime with Rodimus chest is there for a reason. At this point in the game, I'm exercising my right to question every single piece of info not from official sources. The use of red herrings is not excluded.

Don't forget that the original listing that the rumor originated from referred to it as a Leader class. With Megatron, Armada Megatron, and Thundercracker making that size class a thing, it stems to reason that Magnus would be part of that category.

The alt modes of the Wave 1 Legends class Combiner Wars figures are nice! I especially like Powerglide and Bombshell because I think they look most like their G1 counterparts.

Windcharger is definitely the worst one out of the wave, but you'll hear why when the review is posted! Stay tuned!

I would also add something my wife mentioned - when she saw Firefly(ght) she said it didn't look like something Hasbro would make, it looked like a 3rd party figure. I couldn't follow what she'd mean by that, because most 3rd party figures are more complicated than Hasbro figures, but she pointed out that his colors are actually much more vibrant than what we've come to expect from Hasbro.

I think the red really is generally brighter than what we've typically seen since the movies brought in a more muted color palette, and, I hadn't noticed it until now, but if you compare the white plastic on CW Firefly and Alpha Bravo to the white plastic on Gen Arcee, the CW pieces seem to be of a higher quality - they 'pop' more, and lack that sort of opalescence that looks cheap on other figures. At least, that's my perception (the grey on Skydive also looks different from the standard gray plastic). I think my chief regret with Superion is that Silverbolt doesn't use that same hue of white.

No stress mate, didn't see your earlier post.

Kinda makes sense if it is him being shown off at be UK fair, as he was only available in the UK/Europe (and Aus) and is characteristically British...

Turbomaster combiners would be awesome, I used to have some of these guys as a kid in the early 90s, in fact I still have my original Thunderclash

EDIT: almost convinced now. That flame deck car on his chest, Scorch. Not Hot Rod, at least imo.

that is all i was trying to say

I finally got all my Combiner Wars figures in I wanted for wave 1, I picked up Silverbolt, Firefly (X2 for the arms), Alpha Bravo, and Sky Dive.

I am so impressed. These have really lit an appetite for me to get them all now. The paint is top notch, metallic at that with the silver on them. Painted faction symbols, where on the RID line they are stickers. I like the cards, wish it had come with Comics but Wave2 will solve that. The engineering to allow them to combine better with more articulation, and options. I really am just blown away by Hasbro/TT this time around. This is going to be an expensive 2 years if they put out non stop quality like this.

About the white Optimus redeco, it can't be Thunderclash either since Hasbro's Trademark for that name expired last year on October 31st.

So it's not Ultra Magnus, Nova Prime, or Thunderclash. Just what on Earth could it be?

i am stumped on this as well as you are

UM just gotten a Masterpiece Figure

Nova Prime is getting the TFCC treatment

and thunderclash was a BotCon exclusive for Wings Of Honor

the only thing it can boil down to that i can think of it is a new character and also first aid is most likely out of the picture :-? :???:

Edit: the only thing color scheme wise i found was 2001 RID Magnus but the mold don't work for the character :-(

Windcharger is worst because that mold of his really meant for Tailgate. They (Hasbro) just shoehorned him

His head is well sculpted but TOO small while tailgate is just right. The previews Windcharger was an excellent mold. Too bad imho, underappreciated as such that even his Tomy two pack release isn't fetching high 2ndary market prices.
