No. Only Deluxes, Voyagers, and select Legends do. Not Leaders.remmolacha wrote:Does he combines??

I want a supreme size version, scaled so Optimus comes up about a head shorter than Megatron, and put the rest of the plastic budget into a proper Classics trailer. Maybe in another few years?

I'm of the opposite opinion - I could use a smaller Megatron. Perhaps a large voyager. That makes the most sense given all the deluxe/voyager Generations-style figures we've gotten over the last 10 or so years.
That said, I would like a nice big Generations Optimus, too.

The Combiners are much bigger than Megatron. It Is Him wrote:Now I wonder if combined mode optimus Maximus or whatever will tower over Megatron. I was hoping they'd stand toe to toe, but that seems unlikely

Re: Voyager Silverbolt, with the fact that Superion's antennae are made of soft plastic, and with how they fold down when SB is in robot mode, they are certainly in an odd place.
Silverbolt has nipples.
Granted, they're a bit lower than his actual pecs, but now that my bro pointed that out to me, I can't pick up SB without chuckling.

Several Combiner Wars figures turned up at our local wal-mart this week. The Legion figures and Voyager figures from Wave1. This included 2 Silverbolt voyager figures, and 3 Optimus Prime voyager figures. I quickly snagged the two Bombshell figures and a Powerglide. But I had no interest in Silverbolt or Optimus (since I am waiting for the Stunticons to collect Menasor instead). I left all the other figures on the shelf.
That was Friday evening, when the figures were first put out. I checked Wal-mart again late on Sunday, just to see if they had put out any of the Deluxe figures (since I am on the hunt for Dragstrip). Almost all of the Legion figures were gone. All of the Silverbolt figures were gone.
But NONE (count it - NONE) of the Optimus Prime figures had been sold. Not a one. And I predict that the OP figures will move very slowly, if they move at all. Why is this? Because the market for Optimus figures has been well and very thoroughly saturated. There are tons of Optimus figures out there, and everybody who wanted an Optimus figure already has one.
I would add parenthetically that Bumblebee should be included here. He may not be in the CW line (yet), but Hasbro has clotted the market with enough Bumblebee figures, repaints, retools and remolds to sink an aircraft carrier. There's a reason why the Bumblebee figures and Optimus figures are usually the last ones to be sold, and it's because Hasbro has relied too heavily on them to the point where the casual buyer just doesn't WANT them anymore. A normal buyer going into the store, and seeing a whole mess of new Bumblebee and Optimus figures isn't going to go all doe-eyed and sigh, 'At last! MORE of these figures for me to buy!' They're going to shake their heads and wince, and say, 'Oh great. More of THESE figures. Like I haven't got enough already?'
It's an easy choice to leave these on the shelf for the newer figures that we DON'T have yet. Sure, there are people who are aficionados, and who will buy any Bee or Optimus figure that Hasbro waves under their nose. But not enough of them to merit the colossal number of the same characters they are constantly cranking out.
So pay attention here, Hasbro. It's a phenomenon that you ought to take note of very seriously. I observed it directly, and experienced it directly. Has anyone else?

Cobotron wrote:Are the "masses" we are speaking of children? Must be. Just imagine a 7 year old boy getting his first Transformer for the first time. You think he wants Dragstrip, or the heroic leader of the Autobots? Hasbro spends plenty of money on market research. They know what they are doing.
I personally have a pretty strict "don't over Prime" rule. But, I have been doing this for almost 20 years. That being said, I will have CW Prime because I have been dreaming of a OP who could combine since I was a 7 year old boy. (well more like 10)
The dagblasted Voyagers still haven't landed in my town yet.
