I have to disagree. ReGeneration One kept more of the details of the original series, as well as picked up the story from the end of Marvel issue #80.Sabrblade wrote:And it's more like Regeneration One is the splinter timeline since it came second and ended with Rodimus Prime cutting itself off from all other timelines and universes to keep the world of RG1 isolated and split off from all other worlds.

G2 pretty much ignored what happened in G1 but if you want to get the proper start, you have to read the 4-issue crossover with G.I. Joe that explains why Megatron is now a green tank.
Shadowman wrote:This is Sabrblade we're talking about. His ability to store trivial information about TV shows is downright superhuman.
Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

We can agree to disagree. I found many aspects of the second part even more offensive than the first. The makers of WFC seemed to at least have genuinely wanted to tell a good story, but we're limited by Hasbro in budget, which only allowed for limited acting and writing talent, as well as animation. MOTU Revelation was a much bigger budget, and KS used it to smear feces on everything that was MOTU.
WFC isn't great by any means, but I don't have a visceral reaction to it, as I do for MOTU R, which is sad. MOTU 2002 is still the best and I'm glad I can go back and watch it whenever I want.
sol magnus wrote:I guess we have to on this one. Masters of the Universe Revelation wasn't the best thing ever, but I don't feel like it was the worst thing ever. I suppose this might be because MOTU wasn't my favorite thing as a kid, nor was it my least favorite thing.

Age frame might matter. I was literally watching He-Man the day I was born, and it was an enormous part of my early childhood from there on. I didn't have the full room of MOTU toys because it was split with Starcom and M.A.S.K., but I had a fair bit (including She-ra figures inherited from my sister) and a slew of those children's books. I even dug one out for a drama class assignment in high school.![]()
By comparison, I had relatively few Transformers as a child because they were really hard to get (until micromasters showed up), and the only way to watch the cartoon (until G2) was renting tapes from the grocery store.
I didn't write "right where it left off." ReGeneration One picked up the story from the end of the Marvel run where the failed leader known as Optimus Prime made yet another disastrous decision to return to Cybertron while leaving a lot of deactivated Transformers and Cybertronian technology behind, allowing Megatron to yet again wreak havoc on Earth.Sabrblade wrote:I wouldn't quite call "20 years into the future after issue #80" picking it up right where it left off.Rodimus Prime wrote:I have to disagree. Could a mod move the comments about MOTU above to the relevant link please, so this thread can get back on topic?

Okay so I really don't care about your obsession with/crusade against PvP and others, but I have to know, what the hell is the origin of "tealeaf"? Is it an insult or derogatory term over in Japan that I'm just not familiar with? Google was no help there.

Admins, then. I'm sure you've "got the power" to move MOTU stuff to Eternia, right?
