Dino and Jolt, yes please. I’m really hoping Bee is a do-over of his VW design, the only thing I like about the current VW Deluxe is the fact I can give his blade to the blatantly superior Jeep Bee.
Yup. Literal mini-masterpieces. No Combining, no headmastering, no Trypophobia inducting ports everywhere. Budget Masterpieces, like the SS line is supposed to be.
Also, I have to laugh at your saying the SS line is supposed to be mini-masterpieces. I mean sure, there's some figures that live up to that, but...

Don't really agree, especially on the headmaster front. They're not required to be, but nothing says they can't be.-Kanrabat- wrote:The problem with non-combiners being combiners and non-headmasters being headmasters is that they are not supposed to be. I'll give you that... on some (though not all) of the combiners. The Headmasters, not so much. In fact, I find that gimmick enhances the altmodes. I like having the working interiors and a figure to place inside.-Kanrabat- wrote:Plus the gimmick compromise the vehicle and the bot mode in some capacity.
Guess what? Greatshot wasn't a Headmaster until the Legends manga made him one - to promote that toy. And further guess what: The Legends manga did the same thing to the other newly-headmasterified characters! So if it's valid for Greatshot, why isn't it valid for them?-Kanrabat- wrote:Ironically, Legends Great Shot is superior to the TR Sixshot and the G1 Great Shot original BECAUSE he's a headmaster. In canon, he is so his headmaster gimmick make him perfect.
Which figures would you point to as compromised, aside from Arcee's feet and Chromia not being a combiner? And I haven't seen a figure who had too many holes yet. I don't think they make a figure ugly any more than Mini-Con ports do - and they're less noticeable because of being recesses instead of protruding posts.-Kanrabat- wrote:Also, same thing with too much 5mm ports. Some design compromises are done in the look to accommodate the holes. and too much holes make the figure look ugly.
Rampage and Long Haul sure as heck aren't (you wanna talk toys compromised by being combiners? Behold), Jetfire fails to improve enough on the ROTF figure (Again, compromised by combining), the Optimus Primes try but they have shortcomings, ROTF Megatron falls short due to the missing tank mode fins, Movie 1 Megatron has ROTF Megatron's chest, Crankcase was completely FUBAR since they made him a Crowbar retool instead of using the Crankcase-based Berserker mold, Helicopter Dropkick.. enough said, and of course KSI Sentry and Shadow Raider are lazy redecoes; the former is hurt by it and the latter is just a "Buy this to get an alternate accessory for Lockdown" redeco.-Kanrabat- wrote:As for the Bayformers SS figures, they ARE mostly mini-masterpieces. Especially compared to the old movie lines. There's some that are not perfect, sure. But most are pretty damn solid and accurate in their overall look.

Beast Wars is back on the menu, boys

There are atandarfs to maintain.
LOST Cybertronian wrote:Hey, If Mindmaster survived then you should do just fine.
The leaker on TFW has hinted at a ton of Beast Wars stuff, and mentioned a Studio Series Slag with Daniel set earlier today, before this listing showed up. I think I typed a summary of most of it a page or so back.Mindmaster wrote:Autobot N wrote:In addition to all of the other stuff, one of the things that guy on TFW2005 mentioned was a Leader Slag with Daniel set. I don’t see how a listing for Slag and Daniel leads to Beast Wars...

For example we get Kup in SS so that means there won't also be an toy of him in the other line? Right?!

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
To be fair, in The Rebirth (as in the comics) none of the Headmasters started as Headmasters, so narrative-wise what's one more character undergoing the conversion?Sabrblade wrote:Arcee wasn't supposed to be a Headmaster either but The Rebirth went and made her one anyway.

ZeroWolf wrote:Yeah it's likely 86 jazz unless they redeco the earlier SS Jazz. I'm sure Jazz was wiped out on the shuttle at the beginning of the movie though. They should carry the theme over from MPM Jazz and include the option to look like he's been blasted

Yes, yes he did. He was also one of the Autobots featured in the "Transform and roll out!" escape sequence as Unicron is exploding.Jeddostotle7 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Yeah it's likely 86 jazz unless they redeco the earlier SS Jazz. Jazz survived Unicron and appeared in the victory gathering at the end of the movie.
Which ones do you consider to have an "overabundance"? I'm genuinely curious, because the one mold that comes to my mind as having a particularly high count is the SIEGE Seeker mold. Which leaves me with this nagging feeling I'm blanking on something.-Kanrabat- wrote:blackeyedprime wrote:The combat posts have marred a few of the wfc figures but that doesnt relate to ss yet unless they implement them (my first thoughts on wfc redalert mentioned him looking like wheeljack took a drill to him whilst he was asleep, thanks to the drill accessory with centurion he probably did just do that).
My thought exactly. Sometime, less is more and on some WFC figures, the overabundance of 5MM holes is a bit jarring.
