I think the core engineering skeleton can work, especially if we go with the idea that Thunderwing is the retool (or pretool if released first). Both are big space-jet, albeit with very different look, who have a front part that separate and become a smaller robot. Basically, this take on Thunderwing would use the Saber-to-Star Saber engineering to loosely replicate the inner robot and use the completed form for the outer robot.

I'd be down for commander class thunderwing. And a commander class Star Saber, though only if it was confirmed we were getting Victory Leo as well.

Regarding the new guys not looking like the old ones...isnt that just because they were brand new toys versus the season 1 & 2 guys being Diaclone and Microchange guys? If they did all the toys from the ground up there wouldn't be much difference in design. Plus I always thought Hot Rod and the rest were always around but never seen and linked back up with Prime and Co... You know like every continuity has handled them since

Honestly dont need another star saber, the masterpiece covers it -but would like a G1 reissue. Thunderwings nothing like star saber to remold (but hey, that could be said of overlord) and commander class would make it out of scale with hopefully any other pretenders they did to go with him.

Generations Star Saber would be much cheaper to get ahold of though. Plus, if it was a leader class Star Saber it'd be a different scale than Masterpiece.

My question on a Generations Star Saber is, how would you guys want the brainmaster handled? Like how it was with the MP, or a Titanmaster that forms the head for Saber and gets a helmet put on it in Star Saber mode?

Scale-wise, the MP works better with Generations than it does with Masterpiece since Star Saber is supposed to be Combiner-sized and his MP is already as tall as a CW/POTP Combiner.

It would be easier and probably possible for hasbro to reissue the MP starsabre at the commander class jetfire price range (supposedly near £80 here at retail and ko mp star sabres were available at £70-£80 with the official Takara sabres being not much more at one point) due to no-one really buying them outside of Japan, either with low demand for the character or that it didn't fit/wasn't supported with more his series characters to go with other MPs (other than the exkaiser masterpieces which would have made nice companion pieces).

Although, my friend does say Star Saber is also one of the best MPs too. I have noted since his release he is quite hard to get hold of at a reasonable price.

Yea, I mentioned it a few pages back. It came up Friday morning with Amazon as the seller, but was saying temporarily out of stock just like Mirage, but even better mine shipped Friday night and just got here this morning. :shock:
