Skyfall

Profile: Dogged for as long as he can remember by the sense that he had lost something vitally important - that he's supposed to be part of something great - Skyfall has spent most of the last few thousand vorns charting and exploring the barren star systems near teh Speed Planet. All too aware of his difference from the other natives of Speed, he has chosen the life of a lone explorer.

Unlike most Speed Plant citizens, Skyfall has never had any particular desire to be a hero or a champion. His nagging sense of loss and separation has left him without the ambition or competitive drive that fuels so much of Speed society.

By modern Speed standards, his turbine drive and sensory array are antiques, though some of his other systems remain unmatched and unduplicated anywhere else. He's certain he's one of the oldest Transformers on Speed, and yet he continues to function without the quirks or stalls the other old-timers seem to develop. In any case, things ahve been as they are for as long as Skyfall can remember.

As the pilot of Flash Frenzy - one of Speed's only long-range starships - he's had plenty of peace during his long stints in deep space, but found few answers. He find it ironic then, that after all his time spent seeking enlighttenment away from home, it wasn't huntil his most recent refueling trip to Speed that he heard rumors of the visitors from the planet Cybertron - a name taht instantly sparked a memory faded from his circuitry long ago. He felt the sudden flush of enlightenment for a fraction of a moment, as if the entire universe had unfolded in front of him, and then it was goen again; something awesome, vast, a memory of something great and long gone.

Packing Flash Frenzy as full as he could with supplies, he embarked immediately for the coordiante he coaxed from one of the Cybertronians. During the long journey there, Skyfall had lots of time to consider the strange feelings the name Cybertron inspire in him. He's certain the solution to the riddle of his past will be found there.

Abilities: In vehicle mode, Skyfall has a 30mm Gatlin cannon mounted in the forward nose section of his fuelage, which can fire up to 3900 high explosive, smart margeting micro rocket shells per minute. By way of secondary weapons, there is a double barreled laser with a 180-degree arc of rotation mounted in his belly section. This comparatively weak cannon is used mostly for defensive purposes - independently targeting computers can react quickly enough to blow incoming artillery out of the air.

In robot mode, Skyfall wield his twin turbine rocket engines as close combat weapons. They can generate up to 9000 lbs of thrust, which can be used to knock back enemies, and their exhaust is hot enough to melt most of the alloys of which Transformer exterior chasssis are made.

Most impressive, however, is his ability to shape Energon from his own internal reserves into a formidable Energon plasma pulse weapon. Though this weapon has a somewhat low rate of fire, one shot of superheated Energon plasma can reduce a 10-meter section of super-conductive ceramic into vapor instantly.

When under extreme duress, Skyfall can also generate an apparently impenetrable force field made out of an unidentified form of energy. He is largely unable to control this ability, but it has saved his life on more than once occasion.

Weaknesses: Skyfall's primary weakness is his own faltering self-esteem. Thousands of years hunting for answers about his origin have left him with a fragile identity. His inescurity leads him to question his actions, which can cause him to freeze at crucial moments.

Though he is no fool, he is also eager for answers. Clever opponets have more than once led him into traps by feeding him convincing, but false, clues about his false memories.

Physically, it seems nearly impossible to do significant damage to him becuase of his force field.
