Bludgeon was one of the best figures of 2010, one of the best designed not-in-the-movie movie characters, one of the best homages ever made, and a marvel in Transformers engineering. So, $5? Well, can't expect much when your favorite toy is something that hasn't even been released yet.
scypris115 wrote:Thats your personal prefrence... I dont like any characters that are not in the movies so yes hes crap to me.. and last time I checked, Takaras version of wheeljack was released.. I bought him too so.. yeah

Who cares if he wasn't in the movies? it's Bludgeon, he's a skeleton samurai tank man, if you don't like that then I sorta feel sorry for you.
Also are you saying that Que is better than Bludgeon? I think you are.

Yeah I am... so what if I like Que (Wheeljack) better then Bludgeon thats not the point..I could care less for Bludgeon or for that matter this overpriced repaint... yeah Im not gonna pay for this when I can get the original mold for a lower price, Im not much of a repaint fan, a little bit..If you like him thats fine but I think they should of used a different mold.. why use a movieverse character? It just seems odd to me..

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

*directs your head to Fun Publications* Talk to them, Hasbro is just mold and license supplier. And mind you, repaints in the same (more or less) style packaging was the norm back in the 1990's.

I think it's more like they hate the obligation of buying such an expensive item to complete their collection. It's official after all and will be highly sought after.
And as I tried to explain before, the choice of molds is not an irrational one, given the circumstances. I'm dying to see what Metalhawk will be like. Terradive remold anyone?
phase wrote:Really, I'm fine with this. At least the tank looks nice, minus the red and purple guns. An Overlord is an Overlord. The robot is a little odd. I would've changed the swords into guns, like Generations Blurr did.
Tank mode: 8.7/10
Robot mode: 5.1/10

Yeah I will give it that and that's all I will give it. But after looking at the head sculpt some more what's up with the large looking lower lip? I just doesn't look right along with the rest of the bot mode.
And can someone please educate me on Fun Pub and their role and reason for exsistance...thanks!

"Overlord" is his American name too. "Gigatron" is just a lesser-known alternate name that was given to his Heroes of Cybertron figure. But his Masterforce toy was releasedi n Europe as "Overlord".gavinfuzzy wrote:Just realised Gigatron is actually the American name for Overlord.
So this IS our classics Overlord.
Dr. Heavy B wrote:IMLTHO the samari theme of bludgeon dosn't fit overlord well.
datguy86 wrote:Love the color scheme and the head. But considering the head for LSotW had a Greco-Roman inspiration and this head seems to follow suit; it feels odd atop a very samurai body. It isn't very... in-character?

Chaoslock wrote:That's no homage, that's blasphemy.
Overlord was a:
- baseformer
- triplechanger (quintiple if we count the separate vehicle modes as two and the united vehicle mode as another)
- double powermaster
- duocon
- bada$$
now, that mold is not even close. Plus, he didn't even nearby sport swords - he has a BFG and a plane that could be used as shield. Where's the homage in that chewed piece of bubblegum?
bvzxa wrote:While the homage is ok using the Bludgeon/BanzaiTron mold, this is really just Giga. Why they put "tron" at the end to confuse people I don't know because Giga"tron" was Megatron's name in CarRobots/RID.
There is no "tron" anywhere, it's just Giga (tank), Mega (jet), merge into Overlord.
No. SG Bludgeon is a rootin-tootin' cowboy tank. Repurposed from RiD Destructicon Bludgeon.NOS wrote:Ya know... upon looking at the figure a little closer... Wouldn't that be a damn-near perfect rendition for Shattered Glass Bludgeon?![]()
Doesn't change my position on the bad figure choice... but switch the faction symbols and you'd have an honorable and heroic samurai doppelganger.
They said Terradive came out too late to be used.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:I'm dying to see what Metalhawk will be like. Terradive remold anyone?
They're the group who runs BotCon (since 2005) and creates the exclusive figures for each convention.Nemesis Destron wrote:And can someone please educate me on Fun Pub and their role and reason for exsistance...thanks!
