Besides the aforementioned blue looking a bit lighter, I don't see any differences between the two.Kurona wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That looks almost exactly like the Amazon one from a few years back. They are almost exactly the same - they are, after all, homaging the same colour scheme - but there do appear to be slight differences.
Most notably in the torso... then again, could just be the lighting.

Bad lighting.Kurona wrote:Crotch plate appears to be tan
The Amazon one had that spot:Kurona wrote:and there's a brown spot on the bottom of his left (our left) leg half-sphere thing.

Hard to tell in that lighting, but it still looks smokey translucent to me.Insurgent wrote:I never got the amazon one. May try to get this guy. I have the armarda one reprolabelled up, but I do like the new head and the lack of transclearant hand.

Kibble wrote:I know one thing that will be drastically different...the price! Wasn't the Amazon exclusive like $60? Seems the trend these days is to ridiculously price the 'Platinum' releases. I expect this one to be at least $100.

It's actually $170... Yeah...

That's not the retail price though, thats the price for it imported from asia.
The actual price is 130$ in Asia and it will pobably be either around that or 150$ when distributed by its exclusive retailer in the US.
Still not a great price, but that $170 is not indicative of the release and just a price importers pay.
Randomhero wrote:I'm just going off what bbts has him listed for. $130-$170 is still really bad monster what. I get it, economy is pretty rough and it doesn't look like toys are ever going to be what they used to be in price but that amount for a 12 year old mold is insane.

I knew that, but BBTS isnt an oficial retailer for this toy. Its like looking at what they or TFSource is charging for a Botcon exclusive and saying thats the price.

Yeah. I know I should look deeper for online stuff but I've been using them for years and it's just convenient for me. On that note I did find a SDCC brainstorm for $25 on eBay! It felt too good to be true but the guys feedback and history was great.

"State your business!"
"This is my command. You are to buy the 2010 Unicron Redeco. It is the one thing - the only thing - I wish you to purchase."
"You have nothing to fear! I have already purchased the Amazon-exclusive Unicron with my bare hands!"
"You exaggerate."
"The point is I got the mold, and the movie-homaging redeco with it!"
"No... the point is, you are a fool. The mold with the same deco has been passed to a new franchise - Platinum Edition. Buy it again."
"Why should I? What's in it for me?"
"Your bargaining posture is highly dubious... but very well. I will provide you with new packaging, and more retailers to buy it from."
"And?"
"And nothing! You belong to me now."
