Hot Rod is in the Planet of Junkion set. Deluxe class, there is no voyager Rodimus figure to redeco like this in the classics line.
i know he's in the Junkion set but I'm talking about Hasbro making an actual Rodimus with a trailer scaled @ voyager class.

Wait till you see the price. If this is less than 175, I will be quite surprised.
Also, not a fan of all that metallic paint.

Rather than fix her hands they just left the guns out - which is awkward as it will leave a gap in the car mode now - and she can't do her thing from the Movie with the pistols. no to mention an extra Arcee would mean you have both guns twice and can give some guns to Chromia now. and give Arcee her Iconic pair - removing the guns stops that now.
A better choice would simply to make her forearms out of a more flexible plastic so her thumbs don't snap off. than leaving the guns out - or do what Funpub did with their repaint and use the other mould with the closed hands instead.
Also why not do something with Chromia's mould somewhere - that is a nice mould and would be worth turning into someone else the previous one was barely a repaint at all.
Personally I'd have liked Magnus' Companion to be coloured as someone else, That make it would make it a bit less heretical then.
Not going to be paying any of Hasbro Fantasy Pricing on this set's initial release but when it gets down around the $100.00 mark I may bite.
The other ones I have no worries about being cheap as they are less interesting so will more likely end up dirt cheap unless they make them in only tiny numbers.
If they'd based Sentinel on the Character from The videogames he's supposedly related to / derived from then I'd have been more interested than I am in a non-repaint (or barely worth bothering with repaint).
I'd rather have had him in Blue. or a Pinkish Purple. or even dark grey and gold. anything would be better than that orange colour - even pink !!
They are asking me to buy a Brainstorm that may be very close to the single card version as Sentinel that is barely different when I don't even like the mould or the colour - and the only thing I do like is Windblade - and she is objectively flawed as a mould.
I can at least pretend she's a different Jet sister of some sort for my own amusement.
So this set is only worth it if you avoid buying Sentinel and Brainstorm I'd say and wait for a sale and even then you'll be paying a huge insulting premium for the pretty box alone.

How do you know that? This toy is made from the new mold created for RID and no one knows how that mold is like.

Anyway, that Magnus is sweet it combines the dark Takara blue and Hasbro Minimus. But the others in the set don't interest me.
Also, yeah!! Where that Blu-ray is?!
Glad I wasn't continuing a reference that wasn't even there.
A Bluray release would definitely be nice since the only way I've been able to watch the 86 movie is on a recording from when it was on the Hub a couple years back.

I'm of the opposite opinion. Takara Tomy's Legends Arcee is PERFECTION. The deco is spot on to her cartoon appearance. This new Hasbro one is close, but also has a few short comings. It's got some detail "embellishments" where they aren't really needed and misses some nuances, like two tones of pink for the robot mode.
This new Springer compares similarly for me. Hasbro got the two tones of green right, but they're not laid out quite right. Also, they still went for gray instead of pale green for the face and hands. Furthermore, I'm not a fan of using gold as "metallic yellow." It never looks right to me, which is why I usually pass on any Takara Tomy version of Bumblebee that goes that route. I know a lot of people don't like the new Legends Springer, but to me, it looks perfect as a G1 screen accurate deco for that mold. The light green is NOT as "neon" in person as pictures on the web would make you think.
Blurr looks really good as a shiny upgrade to the Hasbro Generations version from a few years back, but the upcoming Takara Tomy Legends version puts that paint job AND the mold to shame for G1 Blurr goodness.
Kup looks great too, but I already have the Autobot Warriors 3-Pack version, which is VERY similar. This new release has a few slight paint detail differences (like embellishments on the shins), but it's a pretty dead heat between the two, honestly.
The ONE of the whole set that I NEED to have is Ultra Magnus. I passed on the Takara Tomy Legends version, despite the gorgeous color blue they used, because of the red thighs. I settled for the Hasbro version, that while not perfect, at least had white thighs for a better G1 look. This new version, though, corrects just about EVERY nitpick I had with Hasbro's earlier release. The blue is deeper, the white is brighter, the paint details on the waist piece are much more G1 accurate (e.g., blue with white highlights, not just plain white). Even Minimus Ambus has better paint apps. I will get this set and probably sell off the rest of the characters.

So for a Platinum set that includes 3 deluxes currently priced at $15 a piece, they ended up averaging $25 a piece since the set is $75, an increase of 66.7%.
Now this set:
Magnus (Leader class): $45
Springer (voyager): $25
Arcee: $15
Blurr: $15
Kup: $15
For a total of $115 at regular retail price.
Raise that by the 66.7% increase based on the average from the Planet of Junk set and you have: $191.71. you can round that up a bit to $200 or down a bit to maybe $185. so this will be an expensive set.

So that would be like $225/$215 AUS
Devastator is more expensive at $300 AUS then!

Actually sentinel is based off his comic appearances, as was pointed out to me, his first appearance (in those colours) was in the marvel series.

While I scoff at your claim of heresy, I do agree that there was an opportunity here to turn Minimus into Daniel in his Exo-Suit. While it wouldn't make much sense with the gimmick, Magnus works without him piloting. I mean heck, the alt-mode even works. All they'd need is a new head.
Not going to be paying any of Hasbro Fantasy Pricing on this set's initial release but when it gets down around the $100.00 mark I may bite.
Someone here theorized that the price could be $200; the way I see it, if these were all the retail releases, $150 wouldn't be outlandish markup for what would nakedly be about $115. So when we're getting premium decoes and a really nice box and AND a full size poster, $200 doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility. Not saying I want to pay that, just saying it's less a "fantasy" price and more of what I like to call "reality."
The other ones I have no worries about being cheap as they are less interesting so will more likely end up dirt cheap unless they make them in only tiny numbers.
Just curious - which "other ones" are you talking about?

Sentinel Prime is not related to Zeta Prime, they are in fact distinct characters with similar origins. Sentinel has been around since The Marvel Comics, I believe, and has always been yellow-ish. Zeta Prime was at one point supposed to BE Sentinel in WFC, as he is somewhat visually similar, but for some reason they decided to paint him blue and call him Zeta. Dunno why.

LOL, that makes two of us. I too love everything about TTomy UM, but because of the red thigh, I was willing to settle for the inferior Hasbro version. Fortunately, I never find one in store. This Platinum UM edition is freaking magnificent! Also, with the awesome TFTM box art, it's going to be tough opening the box. On one hand, I want to leave it as MISB, on another hand, I need to take that UM out.
Man, it's going to be pricey just to get one character/figure. Damn you Hasbro, this is the version he should've been released back in the Combiner War.
