We've all seen the trailers. We(should) all know the story.
Theres only a few hours before the film hits theatres. I'm planning on seeing the midnight showing.
The movie so far looks magnificent, it's been a long time since we've gotten a good Greek history/mythological movie.
Hopefully it'll live up to it's hype.

But it's not really historical (even in a mythological sense). Despite that, it still looks like a great film. I plan on trying to see it this weekend if I have the time.

Tell me about it; I spent a semester living and breathing the Battle of Thermopylae, and Frank Miller's Wakowski-style butchering of one of the greatest true action stories ever told makes me sick.
I hate the whole determination to improve on reality...

Very similar circumstances with an extremely outnumbered force, but ended with the small force winning and driving back the larger force.
If they made a movie about Zhang Liao's triumph over Sun Quan, I would love it.

the thing that surprised me most was the number of kids in the audience. seriously, what the hell kind of parent brings their six-year-old to a brutal slaughterfest of a movie like 300?
