What can I say, the only 3P product I actually own is the 2nd ed FP Bruticus addon (whose shoulder block is now quite tight...thanks to liberal use of Mr Hobby's Dissolved Putty). In any case, I certainly think PE have done some very interesting designs/engineering and I'd like to see a combiner done by them.

(Also I really want their Reflector. That guy looks awesome.)

Their Reflector is indeed awesome. I used to have FP Bruticus, Revoltech Megatron, and PE Reflector displayed together on my dressed. They scaled really well together.

Warden is a worthy buy. If you scrounge up the funds, I would go for it. Only question is, do you get the add on set, or do you not get the add on set. ;)

Bought a PE-01 Shadow Warrior and that toy fell apart in multiple parts. The tabs broke off easily. The gun-fist handle was a pain to get out of the back, had to use a tiny knife to get it out. The plastic quality was worse than a KO.

Willing to give PE another shot with PE Scorponok. But i'll wait a few weeks after release until video reviews roll in. So I can decide if the toy is worth buying or not.

I'm not sure how roughly you handle your toys, or if the Shadow set was simply of lesser quality, but my original set was top notch all around.

I'm usually very careful and take my time when transforming my toys.

If a toy has a complex transformation. I watch a transforming toy video review first.

PE's Shadow Warrior was their first outing into the 3rd Party game. I don't know if they ever confirmed it, but it was speculated that they did Shadow Warrior before Rumble/Frenzy to ensure that their materials and processes were solid. Considering the size and the intricacies of that little guy, one tends to believe it was a good choice.

Tsut is probably accurate in his experiences - that figure had some QA issues if I recall right. It also allowed PE to learn and make it better.

You're right - I mistook him as saying he had the convention exclusive Stealth version of Reflector set, not the older Shadow Warrior piece.

My bad, Tsu.

Wondering when the 3rd party reveals will start rolling in.

Read the online schedule that the dealers room and I presume everything else on friday is off limits to regular attendees. Think only memberships attendees get in on friday.

Thinking some dealers on friday might have 3rd party art and test shots available at their dealer tables.

Read that the big 3rd party panel is taking place this Saturday in the Afternoon.

Rik Alvarez seems to have a few scheduled panels, So it might be possible that Rik has a Panel on Friday Afternoon.

Hoping Rik Alvarez's panel is not part of the Saturday main 3rd party reveals panel. As I don't want Rik's stuff to dominate the main 3rd party reveals event.

So where are all the big reveals ?

So far we have seen 2 new figures from Toyworld that may or may not scale well with your collections depending on your tastes.

What was shown at the panels ? All this hype but where's the reveals ?

And where's that FP Blue Diaclone Slag ?

Edit: I should have known to go to TFW2005. They got galleries like crazy. I know at least some of the Seibertron crew went up there. but I guess they left their cameras at home. If it was reveals on the latest Kreons or Constructobots, the front page would be loaded with galleries by now. :-(

 Try reading a TFCON Chicago online scheldule of events. The Saturday big 3rd party panel products reveals with possible Q & A's hadn't happened yet. You also need to realize this is on a different time zone from where you live.

Didn't Ryan say he was opening a dealer booth at TFCon ? A few pictures would have been cool. I figure why even go there if you don't think it is worthy of reporting ? Show them some love...

Ignoring 3rd parties wont make them go away. They even got Botcon's attention with the Chicago announcement. Unless of course you think it's a coincidence that Funpub chose the TFCon panel day to make the Chicago announcement and stir things up.

He posted picture of the Seibertron.com booth to Facebook actually.

If you feel the need to criticise the voluntary work staff of this site do, then by all means, go off and set up your own site and show us all how it SHOULD be done. You do seem such the expert on many matters after all.

I'm not a tech guru or an investor that is self employed. I'm just a guy who suggests ideas to people who have the power to turn them into a reality. I don't really get into Facebook too much. I wasn't criticizing the work of your staff because they didn't put up any TFCon coverage for me to criticize. I was criticizing their lack of interest in covering an event this big. I don't want this to become a back and forth argument where I end up getting on your bad side. I'm just saying TFCon is worthy of some form of coverage. They sure have Botcon's number. What happened to El Duque ? He used to post stories and updates in this 3rd party section all the time. Real cool guy, I met him in person a couple of times.

Seib's is just not into it. TFW has great coverage. Just use that.

Anyhow, it was great to see all the reveals. I think Toyworld's For Max was the most surprising to me. Maybe it shouldn't have been. But I wish someone would make a Squeezeplay.

I haven’t mastered the use of the quote button for multiple quotes in one post, so Ill do my best to answer all your questions in one shot...

On me not being a tech guru or an investor that’s self employed:

This means I have a regular job and a boss to answer to. I don’t have the luxury of being my own boss and having the extra time to do such a thing.

On me reporting the news:

Where do you guys get the news from anyways ? (It wouldn’t happen to be Facebook, a site I already said I don’t mess with)

On me hardly using Facebook:

Has to do with the nature of my job. I work with a lot of people and don’t need them up into my personal life.

On criticism:

If I criticize the president’s policies, does that mean I’m qualified to run for office? Leadership comes with the burden of dealing with criticism whether you are a President or a site administrator. Learn to accept constructive criticism in stride. It will make you a better leader.

On being on your bad side:

Hey if that’s where you want to keep me, so be it. The only person I currently feud with on here is someone even you have said keeps shooting himself in the foot. Im not sure how seriously he takes it, but to me a little arguing is harmless entertainment.

On TFCon being worthy of Seibertron coverage:

Were just going to have to agree to disagree on that one. The fact of the matter is TFCon has got Funpub’s attention, and my comment got your attention.

On me asking someone from the news crew about what happened to El Duque:

I am. I’m asking you. You’re pretty popular on here. I figured you might know something. I met the man a couple of times. I don’t know him well enough to be sending him PM’s about his status as a news crew member.

Sorry if my Kreons and Constructobots commont struck a nerve with you. I don’t know if you collect those things or not. But when people go on the front page and “criticize” the news crew for posting stories about Kreons and Constructobots , I don’t see you attacking their criticism with the passion that you attack mine. Just saying...

I love bone thugs too !

After getting that off my chest, I must admit I was underwhelmed by the stuff that came out of the TFCon panel. A few new interesting things, but mostly stuff we all seen before and we are aware is coming. Not a whole lot of suprises. No Abominus from MMC (or teaser of the next Ordin figure) No color images of the 4th Trrottlebot. No word on the KFC dino combiner cassettes. And sorry T, no Overlord news from MMC or the now defunct BTS. Seems like they put a lot of focus on those new pretenders. I wasn't impressed. I wanted to be. But as I clicked through 260 or more slides on TFW's gallery, I just wasn't really moved by anything. Whats up with those FOC Combaticons that look a bit cartoony ? Are those original molds or add on kits for the Hasbro version ? I notice Vortex was given somewhat proper G1 colors so Im guessing they are going to do their own Bruticus ? That might be cool. Not really too keen on Maketoys copying every mini bot that Hasbro already did but with a Cybertronian alt mode. Another Tailgate with the inevitable Windcharger repaint in a two pack seems a bit redundant. I might buy it, but still. And damn that Planet X Snaral looks ugly in dino mode. They really just threw the crown over to Fansproject with that one. I must admit Maketoys Guardia looks nice. That one will be mine, and I hope it comes in a gift set again like Quantron did. No endless waiting for limbs, just buy it and enjoy it. TFC's Red Alert and Blades looked pretty good too, but the weird Groove and Oversized Hotspot robot mode killed that project for me a long time ago. And I was really hoping to see FP Skullcruncher in color and a prototype of who's next from the Function X line. Who's next after Skullcruncher ? Highbrow ? Hardhead ? Apeface ? So much stuff all of us here already seen or at least knew about. I get the feeling the TFCon panel was geared more towards 3rd party fans who don't read news boards. But what 3rd party collector doesn't ? It's not like we can walk into a local hobby shop and buy this stuff like they do China or Japan. We knew about 80% percent of this stuff already from online news and pics. Not much new stuff. I really was underwhelmed. But I guess I will be able to save some money in 2015. No issues with that...

Got a lot out of TFCON Chicago 2014. A big chunck of the stuff on my wish list was further revealed.

Even got a few newer surprises.

Their is a lot of TFCon Chicago 3rd party toys that I'll be buying. like TW Fortress Maximus, TW Astrotrain, XTransbots Megatron, XTransbots Scourge. Maybe a Second TW Astrotrain in Cartoon colors. KFC Blaster, Bold Forms Gladius-Megatron and Omnigonix Sunstreaker,
