A line that should be replaced

But Sam was trying to be heroic. "I'm never giving you the cube." Saying Such heroic nonsense to me makes more sense then "So unwise" It just sounds less demeaning to me. To say you're trying to be a hero and then mock that by calling it nonsense. It's implying to Sam, regardless of what you do, you're going to die. The So unwise is just like he's scolding a child. To me it never sounded dramatic enough for that scene.
BB being captured, I was like what the heck! Not to mention Prime not transforming and getting them inside his cab and motering out of there! Sector seven would have nothing against his speed.
Tom, agree with you on the aww Jazz line. I like what they did in the comic, laid him on the ground out of respect for him. It was sad. "No Sacrofice, no Victory."

regarding the bb capture scene, it was the most emotional scene in that whole movie, i had a tear in my for the passion that sam had for saving bb

Call us your hat, America, but you'll never have Prime dollars!

With all due respect, this movie is pretty much filled with as many G1 references as you cram in, while keeping it updated and appealing to the general masses of today. Taking all pivotal lines from the classic G1 dialogue also takes away this film's identity. Did everyone expect an exact recreation of the G1 style/pacing/action/humor?
Sure, it could've been neat for us fans to hear Movie Megs quote G1 Megs by saying 'Such heroic Nonsense', then refer to G1 Megs by deploying his flail. He could then pay homage to G1 Megs by transforming into a humongous blaster which the nearby Starscream wields in true G1 style against Optimus, who is charging into battle G1 the Movie style by rocketing his cab in the air, transforming mid-air and drawing his G1 blaster. The original version of The Touch will be performed in the background and everything would scream GEE WUN!
And what would the fans think? They'd say things like "Haven't I seen this before?" and "Cheap! They can't think of anything original!"

Thank You!
It drives me nuts how many fans think that the closer something is to G1, the better. There was plenty of G1 fan-wank in the movie, no more please. G1 purists have basically had it their way for the last 10 years.
Megatron needs to have the same lines as in the '86 movie. Ironhide should be red like in the '86 movie. Jazz is too "hip-hop", he should be more like he was in the '86 movie. Bonecrusher isn't like the constructicon in the '86 movie, since he's dead, they won't be able to form Devestator like they did in the '86 movie! OH noes!

No question...
The "masturbation" one.
That was the one horrible thing in an otherwise awesome movie. I absolutely cringed when I heard that. It was not only vile and ill-warranted for a movie that they should have known would be mobbed by pre-adolescents, but it totally ripped me out of being immersed in the thrill of a Transformers movie.
It didn't belong in this movie at all.
indeed - it was a big mistake. This film was supposed to be suitable for younger viewers. I'm amazed Hasbro didnt demand it was removed
Blame Micheal for that; Spielberg does the SFX, Michael does the puns and cums...
Yeah, but with a PG-13 rating, which I'm sure they wanted, you're catering to teen/college aged kids. They probably got a kick out of it. Don't get me wrong though, still wasn't crazy about the line.

Except for the masterbation scene. *cringe*
I agree. While the G1 tributes were nice, not every line coming our of Megs or Optimus needs to be a G1 throwback. I actually didn't have a problem with his lines-except that there weren't enough of them. My biggest beef witht the lines was that there wasn't enough tension between Starscream and Megatron. I would have loved more of that-the Megatron speeches to SS. That's what we should really be complaining about here.

I don't think a lot of us are asking for a ton of references, but it felt that some of the lines were really really generic. And to add to that you have this very unequal amount of power on screen. 85% humans, 15% robots.
I can honestly list the number of scenes that had robots in them. And to behonest spliceing them together I'm betting you at most have about a half hour. I mean robots, not black out and the others in altmodes.

I'm not going to argue with that-the generic part. And the human equation too. I just wasn't bothered by Megatron's lines.

"Give me the Cube Boy!" & "Give me the allspark & you may live to be my pet!" Seemed kinda bad
I would rather have Megatron shouting "Hand over the Cube you maggot!" & "Give me the allspark and I will grant you a Swift and Painless death"
Those lines would be alot better

What, alt modes don't count? Come on, if half of their appearance (the very thing TF is all about) cannot be considered Transformer screen time, the G1 cartoons and the 1986 movie would be considerably shorter as well. Guess Unicron had only one tiny scene at the very end then.

You have a point. It would seem better if Megatron talks like an elite enemy captain which would seem much more surreal.

I think they were going for Megatron as more maniacal and condescending. And as far as the pet line, what would be worse, quick and painless death or living a life of torment as the pet of a tyrant?

Well here's the thing, in Alt mode most of the time they didn't really talk all that much, 90% of the time we see them out of altmode and in Robot mode. I said that becuase if you have the Transformers always in altmode it's like knight rider. -_-

We got our version of the masturbation joke. Instead she says,"Were you-? Were...you..." as if she was hesitating which made it funnier dont you think?
Also that scene where Optimus said "One shall stand, one shall fall."
Its not the line, I just wish it was focused on the bots rather than on Sam. Couldn't they have shelled out a few hundred thousand bucks for just that scene?

and "so unwise" sounds A LOT more condescending, too
That's EXACTLY what I thought. He acted like I always thought he would; cruel, sadistic and condescending. Would you think a hamster trying to run away with your wallet was heroic? Or rather stupid?
I also liked him promising to make Sam his pet. It also falls into him be cruel, condescending, and sadistic.
Think about it. Death would be merciful to what Sam would go through if he chose to live and be Megatron's pet.
First off, he would have to live with the guilt that he doomed the whole human race. That he betrayed the Autobots. Not to forget the fact that was already mentioned that he would be a pet to a horrific tyrant. I also don't believe that humans would make good pets. I think it would be a true torture indeed.
