No, it's not a request.
I'm actually trying to give someone some energon, and do you think I can find how to do it? I'm sure I knew at some point, but it's all gone woolly... how do I mend my thrifty ways and give?

It's on your view team page. Enter the ammount, pick the recepient from the drop down menu, and click donate.

Also, the dropdown is sensitive to the first letter/number/symbol of their name, but not the rest. IE, if you type in F, it'll go to the Fs in the list, and if you press F again, it'll go to the second F, then the third. but if you did Fl it'll go for the Ls. saves you a little time though.

I usually check missions I am in to see who needs energon by clicking on the team names.

i've only donated the once. mainly because my bot made it through a battle he really had no right to do so, because someone else kept repairing me. i felt i owed some back for the xp boost which let me upgrade a bit, so chucked over a relatively tiny amount that i had spare. quite easy to do though.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.
