While it does appear to be taking the thread off topic, it may highlight the reasons why some players will prefer the G1 factions to either of the BW ones

Some people want the Maximals and Predacons gone, some don't so the issue is whether they're worth having around, and a key point in that argument is whether G1 (because apparently that's the only Bot vs Con series that matters) was better than BW.
Of course, it's moot anyway because realistically the BW factions aren't going anywhere now that they actually have alts and a join-screen.

Already know why. Human nature. We remember things from our childhood being better then they really were. "I grew up on Gen 1, Gen 1 superior to everything else, because they're all different from Gen 1." It's why Season 3 gets a lot of bad flack. Completely different from the first two seasons.

i disagree, some of the best bits of G1 are when you get that dead look in TF's eyes and you realise that they're not human, when they're just basically people who turn into things it kinda loses it for me.
but then i like the whole "what's human" debate you know what's the difference between a man and a machine? bioroids, cyborgs, and robots, oh my!
if i look at the new movie i see the TFs in it bascially as people, they are very human, and that doesn't really do it for me (yeah all the actions cool; but they're not exactly alien) whereas i look a t a film like T2 and it's obvious that the terminator isn't human and that gap between him the humans, only serves to highlight the differences between the two, but in the TF film, they're just taller humans.
that sorta explains why i like wheeljack, he had paractically no face, no expressions, and seemed rather less human.
and even if they're not going anywhere, the game needs fixing so that I'm not stuck with 6 empty maximal missions or the arena, and rat convoy's not stuck with six full con missions or the arena, cos i'm damn sure we're not the only two players saying, "for ****'s sake, not bloody again"

I've got a petition going in the Maximal forum, signed by 10 Maximal players (whom I suspect are most of the forum-going Maximals that are currently playing) asking for our missions versus the G1 factions to be reduced to 4v4 and taking away the G1 factions' ability to generate missions against us. So it's not just you, I and AZ, Tammuz.

Id sign that as well, but i am seeing more and more Maxi missions with a decent level of opposition.Rat Convoy wrote:Absolute Zero wrote:You're not Tammuz, you're not.

We could use 10-15 new commanders. 20-25 would be great, but 10-15 I think would give us a marked improvement in missions.

You know that even if they had the numbers it'd be pointless because they'd be that pathetic. Crushing them would be doing them a favour.

We are total opposites, aren't we?
I much prefer my Transformers to be more human - it makes them more compelling, understandable, and less two dimensional. Also less realistic perhaps, but hey, suspension of disbelief.
Wonder what the philosophical split in the fandom would be on that...

Da, overall I'm leaking Energon like a Sharkticon with a bad infection, but I'm still doing a hell of a lot of damage even when I lose, and I'm winning pretty frequently.

Are you on MSN? Becuase we've done some orginising on MSN, and it's realyl helped our results. Admitedly, certain times of day (like right now) orginisation isnt so important, but it has made a difference.

prolly in your favour, the vast majority of TFs are played as humans rather than a contrast to humans, even shockwave, so it's only reasonable that those who aren't big fans of TFs as humans aren't big fans of TFs either.
as to being opposites, i think we're both quite good at lulling people into a false sense of security.

I don't play that consistently. I just work a lot on the computer doing literature reviews etc., and chuck bots into missions whenever I can't stand to read another sentence or I'm swinging by the computer between two other tasks. If I played seriously hardcore, I'd never get anything done, and my academic life would come to a swift and disgraceful end.

Seeing as at the time, they were the only missions I had gotten a result for this evening, it was hard to go off any other missions...
And concidering the numbers we have, 6 consecutive victories *is* a big achivment for the preds.
