Info on How to color in Photoshop
- Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle

Ok, not sure where this thread should be, so I'll just post here. For any of you artists out there, does anyone know where I can find info on the net or a book on how to color in Photoshop. I took Photoshop in college but they showed us how to edit images and stuff, not on how to color line art. I would really love to learn as I can start coloring my artwork on the PC. Thanks for any help.

Paint Techs.

Probably,in those big bookstores, section under programming.
Saw a few tech manuals,art/photo bits. Not familiar with
photoshop. But a lot of these programs have like a,dump bucket
feature,choosing off a colour menu.
Do a chunk of cg art, when time... . Something of worth. Some
fills,try windows paint,dump feature,open all files... .
Jasc. is another program very good. Dump fill, plus.
Adobe photo shop is good for bits, see what's good for you.
My art is unformula,twisted...if I tried to copy or replicate
no die. Hope this helped you out. My art is more abstract/glass. Some cartoonie, vehicle.
A tip that would help you, this would be frame up. Set your lines slightly off sometimes. Line frames adjustable,to get
more a feel, texture bit. Something. Always learning, have fun.

I use a relatively simple tutorial I found online here
It's nice because it elimiates the need for layers and works very well. Though for the final step I don't overlay the line art back on. Instead I do a print screen of the image and save that as a jpeg.
This is a quick (read 4 hour) example of what the tutorial can accomplish. That is just my colors on top of black and white line art. I mainly use the tutorial above just to do the basic colors. All the shading and gradients I do on my own.

That being said, you'd have a lot better luck looking for tutorials for individual features than a full book. A lot less reading and you get exactly what you're looking for. My sig is a perfect example of fun using only cut-ant-paste and the color replacement tool.

Thanks for the links. I'll read them tomorrow when I get home from work. I've been dying to learn how to color in photoshop. I would love to be a colorist. And I know they use the computer alot more now for that.
