I never ran into this step when I paid for a N64 Magazine recently with money earned from selling leftover tat. I still have enough left in my PayPal account to pay for the gashapons, and I even made sure to convert 12,60 euros into $18.00 to match the required currency. So why is the payment checkout demanding credit card information for the gashapons and not the magazine? I don't understand.

PayPal help!!
Gah! I'm having a rather embarassing problem paying for four gashapons I bought on eBay with PayPal. I went through the standard payment checkout, but on step 2 I'm required to enter information about my credit card... which I don't have.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought a credit card was only required during PayPal payments if a buyer wishes to pay with money from his credit card account. But if I already have enough money in my PayPal account, I can use that to pay for whatever I want, right?

He only accepts credit card payments through Paypal. Make sure you check the auctions you're bidding on for payment info.

But that doesn't explain how I was able to pay for the N64 magazine, which also apparently asks for credit card payment through PayPal. How can I pay for one and not the other?

Is your Paypal account verified? You might very well have used up the limit they set for unverified accounts.

Though if you have a bank account (which I thought was required for a paypal account) you should have a debit card that can be used as a credit card.

First of all, I can't verify my address because I only have a Fortis debit card (which does not possess a Visa or Mastercard logo like PayPal requires). Secondly, as far as I know there are no sending limits for Personal accounts, only receiving limits. Why then am I having this trouble now?

If your account is not verified, there is indeed a sending limit as well as a receiving limit. Where this is, I'm unsure of because I verified mine the day I signed up.

That's not what PayPal says. The account chart (scroll down) shows a tick next to "Send Money" instead of a limited status. Are they trying to trick us?
