I'm assuming it's this Version 2.0 I keep hearing people talk about.

It's best to assume every link I post is NSFW, and every post I make is just me taking the piss.

Didn't the Quint missions in the lower levels have a triple changer?

How did that work exactly? Did it just have the tactics for a jet and a tank? Or did it function like having two differnt alts with different tactic sets?

You clearly missed the 'leaks' Burn... 'leaked' of 'ideas' he thought would be good, that just happened to be screen shots of OS's team on something that was but wasnt HMW....
You've also clearly missed all OS's 'You may not see it, but Im doing a lot of work behind the scenes' messages, and anybody can tell you he isnt working on this version or the forums... so what else could he be workign on I wonder...?

Anyway, back on topic. The real problem with tripple changers as far as I can see them (especilly *if* V2 does happen, and *if* it does end up with 3 tactics per charecter) is how exactly you would impliment them in a way that would distinguish them from normal tfs?

The quint missions were from before the introduction of the beast factions. They were open to the two factions, who fought together against the quint faction, which was completly NPC populated. If memory serves me right, there were three missions, for different level ranges. The lowest one included a tripple changer on the quint side.
Unfortunetly, I wasnt low enough a level to experiance what it did, and no one was able ot play it. So if it really was a tripple changer, or just a three tactic charecter, or something else entirely, I know not.

Re: Triple changers?
so says the guy who made the thread "what faction will you be in v2?" and has commented on the fact that there are "more pages" that aren't linked to "than we know", Burn's let the cat out the bag, crazyfist's said he was being sarcastic when he said V2 wasn't happening, and OS locks threads when i bring up this link; which keeps changing, with new bits being added to it's side bar
the hookers dead guys, stop.
anyway the triple changer had ram, Strafe, and avoid. it didn't use the specific alt mode for each tactic, it just used this icon;

You mean the thread I started like a year ago (when v2 was on the books) that someone had to sacrifice a goat to raise from the dead?
Burn's let the cat out the bag
Since when did Burn become a trustworthy corner stone of this community?

crazyfist's said he was being sarcastic when he said V2 wasn't happening
As I recall no one was perfectly clear on exactly what was and wasn't sarcasm in that conversation, including CF.
...and OS locks threads when...
Which is exactly what I'd do if I wanted to screw with that perfectly calibrated, mathematically inclined, number-crunching super calculator on your shoulders.

But fine, don't believe me, go chase the rainbow.
I suppose I can't blame you; I had my fingers crossed that they'd really found Bigfoot when that last big hoax happened last Summer.

Oh, and I also never got a chance to fight against the Triplechanger drones, so I never knew too much about how they played either.
Speaking of drones, a Maximal&Predacon team up vs NPC Vehicons would be fun...

and i'd trust burn alot further than the rest of the staff, he can actually lie convincingly. mkall couldn't, OS can't, and you certainly aren't good a duplicity, you try to argue, and then you get caught out.

It did however say "Transforms into ___ and [performs tactic]" So while the image didn't change, the reference did.

That brings up a point. If Triplechangers are so far in the future that we're not really counting on them, why *not* make a triple- or quatruple-tactic TF? Maybe when Intelligence gets high enough (might be an extra incentive to invest in it) more tactics get unlocked? Don't know what's in the code, but OS, is it hard to add an extra two tactic slots? I mean, it might not make them that much different from a regular TF, but... it's something.
To be fair, he's not the one whose cousin is selling the bridge in Brooklyn.

I like Caelus's idea of facing the Vehicons. Which some of them could actually be triple changers. Going against drones and the generals would be fun

Seeing as you're here, and with the understanding that just cuase you say it dosnt mean it will get inplemented nor neccersarily the way you say right now, can you tell us any current opinions you have on the inplementaion of Tripplechangers?

Re: Triple changers?
We actually had working triplechangers in the code with the Quintessons. Technically the Judge was a quintchanger. Adding the tactic to the user interface to allow you to manage all those tactics yourself would take quite a bit more work involving XP costs, alt modes and all the character interfaces.Me, Grimlock! wrote: Don't know what's in the code, but OS, is it hard to add an extra two tactic slots? So the short answer to your question is yes.
Well just opinion wise I always liked the concept. They worked well in the game the short time we saw them. But I also think it could cause some lopsidedness that would make the minicons look tame if it was implemented poorly.pRedimus wrote:Seeing as you're here, and with the understanding that just cuase you say it dosnt mean it will get inplemented nor neccersarily the way you say right now, can you tell us any current opinions you have on the inplementaion of Tripplechangers?

These were the tripplchangers that we faced during the quint invasion.
Overcharge Drones.
http://seibertron.com/heavymetalwar/charac...racter_id=69993
Possibly the biggest threat posed by the Quintessons. It is unknown if these drones are Cybertronians enslaved or are just modelled on Cybertronian schematics, but these triplechanging transformers carry Dol Laser rifles enabling them to be deadly opponents.

Tactics - 3 (special)
Not only formatted to be very powerful, but that have exceptional speed and use of their tactics.Ram - As the standard Cybertronian tactic, they possess a strength that enables them to be pretty effective rammers. Also, as with normal Ram, this attack ignores armour, but Endurance is assumed to be effective against it.
Avoid - Again, as the Cybertronian tactic, these drones have a very high speed making them effective avoiders.
Strafe - The weakest of the Drones tactics, possessing low firepower limiting their shots to only a handful, this attack - again the same as the Cybertronian tactic - also ingores any armour worn by the opponent.
Weaknesses:Tripledipper minicons. €3000 .
These Minicons are specifically designed to defend against the attacks of the Overcharge Drones, although please note that this does not stop them from avoiding melee attacks.
