nope i won't miss the arena that much

Early on in the game I stuck to arena battles wiht my lower levels. After I hit level 2 I used it less and less. I think I've used it once per month in the last year and only then just to see how I'd do one on one.

I wouldn't miss it.

it was great when missions didnt auto cr. now its been made redundant except for outstanding circumstances, like when u really dont wanna hit reload 5 times. aside from that, nah wudnt really miss it,but its an aesthetic thing. like 5 diff types of the same alt.....

I would miss the arena. I like to look a mission over before I drop my bots in. Thanks to how much I work I don't always have time to do that. When I only have a short time, I use the arena instead. Without the arena I would not be able to play as much. I would have to cut my play time.

I'd miss the arnea.
I dont often use it, heck I've even cuaght myself whinging about arena monkies before, but sometimes I do find it useful.
If there are 6 missions, all with overwhelming con superiority, and barly a bot in sight cuase there simply aint enough bots online, then the arena is a useful alternative to sitting a con in a mission for an hour and geting a token amount of xp.

Also, viriaty is the spice of life, it is sometimes fun to have a change of scenery, and the arena offers that.

But if you go to the arena, then you must find opponents there yes?

Therefore if the arena isn't there, those opponents must then go into missions.

Or if there are no opponents in the arena, then aren't you then just sitting there doing nothing?

And if the arena is removed and everybody has to join in missions and one side out numbers the other, then surely having other areas for people to go to to avoid being out numbered would be detrimental to the missions which is suppose to be the primary focus of the game. as we've been told since forever.

If it only involved bragging rights and nothing more, then yes. I like being able to take a break from the missions once in awhile (with arena, there's no need to worry about teammates or how many opponents will show up) and still earn experience points and energon.

I think the arena would be fine if you got NO xp for fighting in it and it's only purpose was as a source of energon.

Actually I would miss it. I would rather toss a spare bot in an arena match than sacrifice him to a multi-level mission where he is on the low end of the spectrum, and would most likely get slaughtered.

Now, on the flip side, if it was replaced with something like a 'challenge arena' where you would STILL get XP/energon, then I would say that would definitely work. Give the game some more variety, and people don't get 'punished' for using it.

It may not get much use but will make the overall game that little bit more competitive.

I'm somewhere inbetween Ninjaburn & OS's viewpoints.
It should defiantely be more about the energon but there should be a "token" amount of XP given as well [EDIT - for the winner only].
The XP given should be less than you'd expect to get in a mission. Perhaps a "flat rate" amount based on the mission win bonus xp amount for that level rather than the xp gained from damaging a foe? Knowing that a best at level one is only going to walk away with 100xp from an arena should be enough of a turnoff.

I wouldn't miss it I enjoy the missionsmuch more. Also you have to remember when everything gets reset you won't have to worry about cross level missions for a while. There should be plenty of opposition on both sides since everybody will be at the same level
