But I still think they'll maybe make the final cut as canon fodder for Shockwave or another of the main Decepticons in a single scene or something. Like George Lucas did in Episode II with Jar Jar Binks - just had him in one scene for a minute, only this time maybe we'll be lucky and see the twins get smoked.

In a perfect world they'd bump into Devastator again and get eaten like should have happened in ROTF.

doh well... who really knows? they may be in and they may be out. we saw pix of megan fox on the set too, and we know how that turned out.

I remember being so excited about the first movie. Even though, I hated the designs, I still went to see it. I was very disappointed, but hopeful that the second one would make things better. After all, Jetfire was going to be in it and so would Sideswipe. And Devastator too. Then, the unimaginable happened. The worst characters since Jar-Jar Binks appeared on screen. Yeah! I'm talking about the darn twins. And now, they're saying that they won't be in the final cut, and yet we see the vehicles and toys. I don't care if they're in the movie or not, I'm waiting for this one to come out in DVD!

They said Megatron would not be in the RotF then changed and said only in flashbacks and we all knew how that turned out.

I could see it going either way. Personally, I hope they are in it briefly for continuity's sake--having them get brutally slagged by a 'con early on would probably help the 'cons get some "heat" back too, to borrow a pro wrestling term.

I'm indifferent. I don't really see much point in speculating one way or the other because the bottom line is there's no way to know for sure until we see the final cut. Even if a decision has been made, it could just as easily be reversed.

Anyway ROTF was so bad that a few attempts to distance DOTM from it might be in order, though I'm not really convinced there will be any significant improvement. The DOTM trailer with the big fly-in Optimus battle scene sure smacks of the ROTF desert finale, with tons of bots and things exploding but nothing worthwhile happening. (You know, like "plot"--facts, details, condense, tell it! Too bad they didn't take their own advice.)

And I really did hate the twins' faces, even more than I still hate Bumblebee's face when he's not wearing his mask (and why does his mask have eyelash-like eye covers when they could just be full black glass?) and about the same as almost all the Decepticon faces. I keep HA Mudflap's face turned around to the Battle Mask side so it's less appalling. The only thing the Twins had going for them was they actually got (comparatively) a lot of dialogue and screentime in the movie, which was mainly a weak attempt at comic relief, but gave them far more personality than almost any other bot in the movies had. Oddly they're also the only two bots that also showed something of a personal robot relationship.

I realize a majority of people didn't care for the twins but to me they were not horrid characters in ROTF. There's no shame in having them in DOTM. Not sure why they would have the vehicles on filming sites and say they're not the in the final cut of the film. It would be better to say they are in the film and hide other characters.

its possible that they have toys but arn't in the movie. loomk at ROTF baricade and jazz. hell jazz was in the friggin game

Who cares if they make it in or not? I'd just as soon not. If I never see another Skids or Mudflap figure on the shelf in stores, it'll be too soon for me. Thing is, with a cooler head sculpt, these figures would have been OK. But no, they had to make them look like Looney Toon characters with bug eyes are buck teeth. Great call, Bay. /sarc

I'm not really sure what to believe right now. I'm just gonna wait for the movie to come out and then we'll know for sure.

Well, it seems we have something in common here. We're both 16 and hate toilet humour. But I actually liked the Twins. I think they're stereotyped, but not racist. I thought of them as "gangsta". To be honest, I know white guys that talk and act like them and black guys that don't- so I can't personally find racism. The Wheelie humping and all the sexual references could've been done away with, but hey, it is what it is. It doesn't effect the film the slightest bit for me. And yes, directors will do whatever they want. It's THEIR movie. THEY'RE the director of it. It's not about what we want. It's what they think will sell. Unfortunately, these moviemakers have an impression that this toilet humor sells to young people. And, with the people that surround me every day, I see where they get that impression. We must also understand that Michael Bay isn't some dictator that specifies exactly how absolutely everything will go. He has writers, too, along with a myriad of other roles that come up with their own ideas.

Agreed. Directors in general, not just Michael Bay (although he doesn't help himself), use stuff that they think will sell. Bay doesn't think that teenagers and adults are going to go and see a film about transforming aliens based on toys, so he tries to make it appealing, with cars, "hot" girls and, in the second film, excessive toilet humour. I guess he assumes that that's what will sell to present day teenagers. Heck, it's like that with the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies - I saw the first one and it was terrible, ruined all of the saturday mornings of the original cartoon when I was a kid. But teenagers around me liked it (I wont go into name-calling and generalisations), because it was stupid, heartless "humour" that other teenagers seem to find funny. So I think that's the logic behind the testicle-bearing, leg-humping ROTF mess. He appears to have learnt from it though, so perhaps DOTM will be a bit better.


Anyway! I don't mind if the twins are in or out of this movie - so long as they don't get such a big role. The toys may be being made because their toys were relatively popular first time round (although Mudflap was a shelfwarmer, but we haven't seen any Deluxe toy yet). And as for the replacement buddies, maybe the Wreckers? I hate to admit it but remember that Bill Fagerbake is voicing one of them.

Well, we were also told Wheelie WAS returning for the film and haven't had any sightings of either a toy OR an alt-mode on set to confirm that. Personally, I don't care one way or the other if they're in the movie, the only thing that will annoy me is if they're still as juvenile as before. Or if their toys are the same shelfwarmers Tuner Mudflap is

The footage will not be used - meaning the Skids and Mudflap didn't make the final cut.

As for toys being out there, obviously Skids and Mudflap were intended to be in the movie, Hasbro then developed figures for them, but they've since been cut.

I'm right there with you Burn and I don't know about you, but I didn't even bother reading any further in the posts because the level of blatant ignorance and short-sightedness was just so astounding that it was starting to give me a headache.
Are any of the rest of you capable of reading AND understanding the content of what you've read and the context in which it is presented???
You know, I used to apply the saying "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst" when it comes to dealing with Bay's take on the Transformers but now I have to apply that mindset when dealing with fellow Transformer fans!!
There are still a few folks on here (thankfully) that I can rely on to stay level headed and that actually show a high level of cognitive ability but Sweet Primus some of you folks...

It seems a lot to prepare the cars, film them and then just cut them out. There was footage showing the cars in action I believe but things do get cut out from movies. How about the footage from Revenge of the Sith where Anakin and Obi-Wan travel throught the fuel deck of General Grevious' ship at the start of the movie? That was filmed, Obi-Wan and Anakin are visibly wet after but nothing appeared in the movie.

Personally, I do hope they are in the movie, I want them to get blasted and killed off straight away by Shockwave. Killing an existing character in that way will really ramp up the danger the audience will get from Shockwave.

As dumb as they were, I actually wanna see them. Everybody was crying racist the way they were portrayed in ROTF. But if they had been given hick accents, metal cowboy hats, and were jamming to Garth Brooks, nobody would have complained. How come nobody ever accused the G1 cartoon makers of Jazz and Blaster being racist ???

i certainly hope not... i hate plot holes. Where did Barricade go? that stuff always bothers me. even if you have do diminish them to the back ground at least show them as still arround. like if Jolt just vanishes and isnt in this 3rd movie it will be really dumb.

i dont think they can just be cut out of the film outright, they need to die so theres no plot holes, the cars were on set so it would've been a waste, and we just need to see them die. Either way if they arent in the film we better not see any more toys of them, getting sick of seeing every peg filled with them.

Look im a movie lover i had no bother with the twins i bought there figures BUT! it is the last movie(for a good while anyway)SO make room for more exciting spot light and background characters,So i say they should be seen and not herd for this one if seen at all,Well at least killed off..
