Alternate configurations for Energon/Universe Superion
- Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
Hi all. I just got a Universe Superion from a lot I won on Ebay. I really bought the lot of TF toys for Cybertron Galvatron (which I LOVE!), but I just finished fiddling around with Superion. The individual components are pretty good, I had already purchased Energon Stormjet and Airazor, so I was familiar with them. However, Superion just looks...horrible. I do plan on getting the Fansproject upgrade kit for this guy, but I remember seeing a thread a while ago where someone had set up Superion in a different way than what the instructions tell you to do. I'm just wondering if anyone has any configuration that makes Superion at least look decent. Like I said, I'm eventually going to get the upgrade kit, but he's a bit of an eyesore in the meantime...

Thanks, but that's not really what I was talking about. A few weeks ago, a few people posted "fan modes" of the Energon Superion mold that made it look similar to the Fansproject configuration without actually having the Fansproject pieces. I tried looking all over the net for some fan made configurations for the Gestalt, but I'm having no luck at all...

Its basically the Fans Project configuration without the add-ons. What you do is you rotate the Jets around so the nose cone is sticking up, and pull down one leg, over the connector piece, and use it as an arm. with an elbow.
This unfortunately it kills the shoulder articulation.
You can however keep the plane with the nosecone facing down, and bring only one leg down to the side of the plane, and put the energon weapons into the single foot hole, in a cross type deal to form the hand.
You get the benefit of the elbow, and keep the shoulder articulation.

Thanks, I kinda figured it would look that way...I'm just unsure of how to connect the "hand" pieces. Do I just shove one into the middle of the other and then put that into the foot hole? I was actually kinda hoping for a picture...

That's pretty much it. Plug one of the energon batons into the other, and then into the foot.

I've seen some interesting configurations for Superion Maximus/Superion and I'm getting closer and closer to getting the Aerial Bots...so close.
Great repaints, Mykltron!

Great repaints, Mykltron!
Thanks! What I was actualy wanting to show was two different hand configurations - one is flat, the other has our opposing fingers.
There is another pic of him here.

Hey, thanks for the tips Mykltron!
Though I'm not going to be doing anything quite as daring as putting in ball joints where there were none, I followed your example for how to gain the elbows and set the hands in that 4 opposable digit configuration and it has VASTLY improved my Energon Superion.
Awesome paint job on your project too, btw. You have quite an eye for fine detail.

Thanks!
I enjoyed having mine with that finger config for months before getting around to adding the ball joints. It's a much better way of doing it but it wasn't quite enough four me! Putting the joints in was mighty fiddly.
Have you tried the flat hand config? I think it'd look so cool in animation to have the inner two fingers spinning round occasionally as he changes between the two for different situations.
