I thought ALL the figures in the box set were getting new heads?

Ha, it seems like the flyers are the most unique of the CW molds. All the cars have been done a million ways.

Yeah, they were really cool, and I liked the lean limbs they made; but it looks like tripredacus is going to suffer 'stick-arm syndrome' like defensor though

Air Raid was my favorite Aerialbot and it's a shame they only used him once. It is a dang good mold

I think it was stated somewhere... but everyone else has gotten a new head, apart from cicadacon, so it makes sense.

I would have preferred just not getting Ravage or Tarantulus, as both mold choices are straight up awful (Ravage because the Breakdown mold is the worst of all the CW molds, and Tarantulus because, well... so many reasons).

What I would have liked was a revamp of the Tri-Predacus concept. A 'Dawn of the Predacus' theme gives you room for a 5 member black and red pre-Beast Wars team. It would have looked badass, and it would have been easy to have the fiction justify the death of the 2 new members and chronicle the rise of the now 3-member Tri-Predacus council.

I think Prowls mold would have worked, or one of the fliers maybe.

What was that line from the Agenda? After the Great War, a few Decepticons were granted amnesty. Most have retired. But rumor has it that one was rebuilt as a Predacon [Ravage]. Wouldn't that mean that there would be some Decepticons still on cybertron that just became recluse or were never seen or heard from again. Also isn't implied Cicadacon is also a former decepticon whose original identity was just lost to time.

The show wasn't particularly clear on whether there were still any Autobots or Decepticons around anymore, or if virtually all of them really had been replaced by just Maximals and Predacons.

Supplementary material outside of the show sheds light on some of this, but the show itself is unclear.

Yep, not to mention there are sooooooo many toys that have no media to work with (outside of the IDW Beast Wars comics) that you could use here.

But I bet that Ravage will get repainted as Tigatron to use the head again and homage the '06 toy which has a front end that sort of kind of looks like a lamborghini. And we'll still be waiting for this guy:

FunPub has only ever said "5". Some of us may have said "all" because FunPub also said "5 figures in the set," but the question of "what does that mean vis-a-vis the combiner head?" was always an open one. Now we know. One of five limbs is a straight repaint so the core figure can have both a new regular robot head and a new combiner head.

Lest we forget, this is still, by any measure, the most generous FunPub has ever been with remolds in a box set.

You got to give it to the Club, they keep their promises. As they said they'd reveal today, in yesterday's preview, here is Predacon General Cicadacon's toy. It is a straight redeco of Combiner Wars Sky Dive, leaving new heads for both Sea Clamp and the combined form.

LOVE the wing pattern (shame they're obscured in every other form)

HATE the solid paint scheme obscuring all details.

These really should've been based on the toys' color scheme, would've really driven the nostalgia factor home, and given the combined form some nice colors.

(and, yes, I know they're basing them on the show designs, but since we were never actually told what their color was - to my knowledge - I say it should be fair game to paint them like their toys)

The wing deco's nice, but like seriously the red is washing out just about every detail.

Actually, the show models for the Tri-predicus council were supposed to look like the toys, but Mainframe like hit the deadline for the show and I think they also blew their budget for that season by that point. so they just threw some things together for their animation models
