It start with these old Third Party things, JB-01 Justice Leader and JB-05 Destruction Lord, both from Junkion Blacksmith Studio. "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron". They have their traditional bot mode:

They have their vehicle mode:



And as you saw on the picture, they are also HEADMASTERS compatible with G1 bodies.
So of course I had to make something. But what?

I originally wanted to create Crocodile Optimus, but it was already done. But then, the seller that I bought these 3P "headmasters" from sold me a G1 Apeface body for 5$CAN. Because of that, everything clicked into place.

So, here's the first of TWO customs that I made,

APETIMUS PRIMO!



He got brand new wings and a mean "engine" block!









"Optimus Prime" sit comfortably inside the cockpit.

APE MODE!








I just noticed that the ape mode have a big... gaping.... N... Never mind...

The "engine block" transform into the ape head. That head comes from the original Beast Wars Optimus Primal. Severely modified, with an added 5mm peg. In "engine" mode, it peg into the peg hole where the shield/tailfins should be. In ape mode, I drilled a compatible peg hole for it to fit perfect.

BOT MODE!



As you see, the "engine" is now the bot's chest. Pegged in via a makeshift 5mm peg-hole.The ape legs fill in the chest to give him a more broad-chested look. He comes with his gun and his sword.

Apetimus Primo needs his rival and so....



MEGATRONOSAURUS!



That one needed more work. New wings, new tailfins, new nosecone custom accessories and more!



Why this "figurehead" as the spaceship "nosecone"? Because Megatronosaurus is a bad-ass and he is fuelled by lots of fu¢k$ he will never, ever give.



During the custom process, the cockpit window cracked so I had to improvise. Glad it turn out well. Also, all the stickers on that old Snapdragon body were destroyed. So I had to scrape them off and then apply some Reprolabels leftovers.



The G1 Laserbeak/Buzzsaw guns are just a PERFECT fit on that ship mode.





It's a bit cramped in there for "Megatron". So he must leave his canon on the cockpit's floor and yoga himself onto his seat.

DINO MODE!



Using a improvised 5MM port system, the dino head snap in place snuggly.



That tail is much more poseable and versatile than the original. Also, I have to swap and turn around the Laserbeak guns on the dino legs to make things work.

BOT MODE!





For bot mode, the Laserbeak guns take their place as if in spaceship mode. You see his "outie belly-button"? This is to make the dino neck easier to pull out.... or if the bot want to be... indecent!

Then, references!
The dino head peg onto his hand and become his "T-Rex hand" (Beast Wars). There's also his good old arm canon (G1). Finally a "ponytail" (BW Transmetal Dragon Megatron).

Is it just me or the unpainted purples are different colors one from the other? A running change or yellowing in action?

Thanks! It was a nice challenge. Often I made some mistakes and I had to start over, but in the end, the results were hilarious and cool at the same time.

Yeah, Megs was challenging to do, but it was especially fun!
I love the fact that I could make a Beast/G1 Megs hybrid.

These look great! I'd like to see these also made from the titans return figures. Nice cringe names too, very clever. Just one note: Did you check your grammar?

Using Titan Return molds, no 3P headmasters would be necessary and all parts could be official. But for the Ape and Dino parts, the Takara BW Anniversary deluxes would be perfect to sacrifice. Also, I wouldn't have used the modern Apeface and Snapdragon molds. Just use the TR voyager Optimus and Megatron molds, then I'll remove the plane modes from both and try to make the beasts modes out of those. So Optimus would be truck-monkey-bot and Megs would be tank-dino-bot.

A future project if I happen upon the parts at a reasonable price.

As for Grandma, my first language is French so unless I'm writing something official, I usually skip the step of copy/pasta-ing everything in a Gmail to check.

I see! I didn't know that. Glad to have you here on Seibertron, you are one of those who usually always replies to my comments.

Apetimus looks great! Super nitpick would be the purple part near the cockpit but totally understandable why it isnt painted. Looks good in all modes.

Megatronosaurus. Just not to my liking.

Vehicle mode feels as though it would go great with beastmachinces ultra jetstorm.

Maybe it could work as some kind of skiff if megatrons canon was more turrety on it or underfixed.

The beast head on the front is kind of old galleon style but snap dragons vehicle doesnt have the mass to pull it off -might have worked better as a head stuck in the middle (which never works) like Prime Megatrons alt but I think G1 snap dragon is way too limiting (and you have done amazingly well with those limits)

Botmode, it would defy the point of them being headmasters and what you have done but I could see the T-rex head being the bots head like some amped up battlemaster.

Even though Apetimus is the most cohesive all around, my favorite of the two is Megatronosaurus because of how absurdly silly the whole package is.
