I stopped by my school library's magazine section today and found the latest issue of Car and Driver magazine fresh in. I decided to give it a good look, and I found some interesting things some Transformers movie fans might enjoy.
The cover is what attracted me in the first place. The two largest images on the cover re those of the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette "C7" generation and the other the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
The images of the new generation Corvette are the first the public has seen. The car is almost identical to the Corvette Stingray Centennial Concept seen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The only noticable difference is that is sports new redesigned headlights. It is also painted red, resembling the ROTF toy line's Swerve figure. There are two pictures featured in the magazine: a front view on the cover and a side/rear view in the article.
Now onto the Camaro ZL1. Some of you might be aware of this already. This car will be Chevrolet's hardcore muscle car competitor to the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. It sports a new front fascia that most of us recognize anywhere. Yes, it bears resemblance to the ROTF movie concept car...but not so much as something else. The action figures. Oddly, most of Bumblebee's ROTF action figure alt-modes bear little resemblance to the actual on-screen car at all (except for Battle Charged Ultimate Bee), and I have pondered why Hasbro would design the front end so differently. On most of the action figures, the front end has a very large lower grille opening...which differs greatly from the movie car. Also, the inlets on either side of the lower grille opening are much smaller than the on screen car, and have two fog lights in each inlet rather than one per inlet.
Was GM trying to secretly hint at future projects through these toys? Who knows, but it seems strange to me.

I'm hoping for this years TF Camaro edition, it will bear a much closer resemblance to the movie car. now that the ZR1 is being released, then hopefully the'll release it (the BB edition) with the ZL1 front bumper and new black stripe kit. I liked the the first BB camaro, just wished it was a bit closer to the actual movie car.

Yes, I was thinking the same. I hope we get a real Bumblebee edition Camaro, that is close to a replica of the real one. I believe the rear wing he uses is already planned to be sold as an accessory. The rear fascia is used on the ZL1 also, of course. But I wonder if they'll make a front fascia, hood, and wheels, and side vents to match the movie car. I hope we don't just get another rally yellow SS with Autobot symbols slapped on it.
However, this being based on the Jay Leno Concept, I doubt they will implement concept features onto the standard car. Maybe SLP or someone will do aftermarket. SLP already has most of the parts you need to make an ROTF Bumblebee except they don't make a custom front end that matches nor do the sell the concept-style rear fascia separately. However, come to think of it, I believe SLP's 2011 ZL1 limited edition has a front end that resembles DOTM Bee. I wonder if they'll release that piece separately.
