Kick ass i love it. I wants one 2. Teknoman is a great anime. I enjoyed all over again on the complete series set about 6 months ago. I'm tempted to get the Tekkaman Blade sets. I can handle subtitles now.

Please get one!

It is my fond wish that this sell well, and get the big heads at Bandai or Tatsunoko thinking more about Tekkaman Blade again. I'd love to see a pack of 4 inch Tekkamen, or other sets.

Like 4 inch Evil and an 8 inch Omega, and pack Including Axe, Lance, Dagger, and Sword. Er, I'm sure Rapier would be in there somewhere, though it'd be odd for her to turn up in an evil pack.

Maybe even a pack of the second generation Tekkamen too. I'd love to have Blade and Aki's Red Devil form standing side by side.

Toys from that show would be killer. Its such a dark show and the technosuit are so bad ass looking.

There've been model kits since 1992. I have all the retail kits and some of the rarer B-Club kits. The only downside is having to assemble them yourself, and paint some of the later ones.

I would kill for a pre-assembled Tekkaman Dagger...

My favourite Radam Tekkaman... Oh if only you didn't cost so much.

The only downside as you can see is that the arms are positioned in a way that is physically impossible for Dagger's human body.

Very much so. Absolutely breathtaking and jaw dropping.

I never found myself interested by Miyazaki's works (though I found them to be visually impressive) but this one won me over.

A beautiful film with a lot of heart.

I love Darker than Black!

It's not the most brilliant show in the world but I found it to be tons of fun, and the characters and aesthetics are wonderful. Hei combined with his mask makes him one of my favourite characters ever.

Nice! My question would be once assembled, would you be able to pose these models? That Tekkaman Dagger looks amazing.

Would definitely love to see these as action figures. I definitely plan on picking up that Pegas/Blade figure set soon.

It is nice isn't it? The owner did a really good job of painting that one.

Yeah, they can be posed to a point since all the limbs have ball joints.

My friend lent me her box set of Gungrave, the fully loaded collector's edition.
I don't think an anime ever left quite the impression on me that this one did. It was the kind of experience where you want the work day to go faster so you can go home and watch what happens next. The story was amazing, the characters so distinctive and well represented that you get the feeling that you actually know the people. You still hear the things they say running through your mind days after you watch it!
The story involves Brandon Heat and Harry McDowell, two young street gang members who, through a chain of unforseen and tragic circumstances, become part of the city's premier mafia organization: Millenion. They work their way up from entry level to a level of preeminence in the organization, and, well, things get crazier and crazier until you actually reach the events that you saw in episode one of the first disc (lots of shooting!), events that you will then understand. There's something for everyone, gunplay, romance, betrayal, genetically engineered super soldiers, the walking dead, etc.
There, I think I gave the jist without spoilers!
Anyone who hasn't seen this simply must take some time to do so. It is one wild ride!

"Never...never betray the organization."

A number of years back in 2002, there was a large presentation in Japan (I think for a Sega event) for what was to be Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke. It was to be a multi-player games based on Gunsmoke and looked good despite only showing a small clip.

Then things kept changing with the details, to the point the game was nothing like the original concept and altered into a single player game, As that progressed the use of Trigun in describing the game disappeared completely, with only the fact that Nightow was supplying designs.

The result was that the original concept for the game continued to be listed on Sega's website until just a short while ago, but the actual work ended up in the Gungrave video game, which then in turn spawned a series of it's own.

I hate giving out recommendations because you never know which way a person's taste is going to swing, but Dr. Tekka prescribes a four stage "Full Metal" treatment course for your AADD. Consisting of Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu, Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid, finished off with a Full Metal Alchemist marathon. Not only is it delicious and filling but it's packed full of vitamins and iron.

Though I think you should branch out away from action too, there's a lot of good stuff out there.

I think you covered the list of unbearably long shonen anime filled with constant, nonsensical violence and incessant, side-character commentary pretty well, but one of the other guys might be able to suggest something else.

Devil May Cry. I was so surprised at how good it got. It Got better each episode and then it ended. Dante is funny and a dick, the little girl is great comic relief. Perfect amount of action and not overkll all the time on the gore like the DMC games. And the part where the little girl character mistakes a monster for her mom in the first or 2nd episode was creepy as hell but i loved it.

I was thinking of running a marathon of it over the course of a week myself. It's been quite some time since I last watched it. I recently bought the english Tekkaman Blade box set, but I'm so scared of doing any damage to it that I haven't taken them out of the shrink wrap...

There's also a new crystal box set out in Japan, but buying it would set me back $500. The prices they charge for DVDs in Japan, and the general cost of items over there, boggles the mind.

The Japanese economy is quite strange and shaped by the fact the Yen up until the current economic depression the world, did quite well allowing the entertainment industry there to set prices based on their profit margins rather than matching much of the rest of the western markets.

CD and DVD end up being quite higher, while some items like comics are cheaper.

Are they uncut? Cause several times during the english complete set i noticed scenese cut out and it was very obvious. Like the army general shooting the dude in the head for being a spy. I remember being like wtf what the point in editing that u know he got shot in the head LMAO.

Yes, they're uncut since they're the original language editions. The Teknoman DVDs from Anime Works had cut scenes reinserted at super high speed, and it looks ridiculous. The quality of those DVDs was very poor, and I was really disappointed in them. It's the first instance where I've actually been happier with a bootleg release, because while the bootlegs did the same reinsertion they did it a hell of a lot better, and they even kept the original ending theme. If they'd kept the original opening too that would have been great.

Just FYI should you guys go "WTF?! Where the hell is the new guy?" I made his post go away as he added links afterwards. He was ether a new kind of spambot or a guy who joined solemnly to plug those things.

A pretty awesome complete boxset of Gurren Lagan was just released over here with a magnet to close the box, an exclusive drill thing with an LED a plastic badge thing and a badge thing you can put on your jacket or other textiles.
I don't lnow if I should get it as I have other priorites at the moment, eg Ghostbusters Ray and Buster Prime.
