Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

Sorry, I have to blame Yomi. I don't blame Mei, I actually liked her. :P

I also blame Mitogawa.

Bloody kids messing around with butterflies.

Yes, yes, blame Mitogawa-butterflies are evil.

...as for not blaming Mei, but blaming Yomi...i don't follow your logic. Perhaps we shouldn't get into that.

What's killing me is trying to figure out when the event with yomi, toru, and aoi took place...it was obviously before episode 1, but was it before Mei met mitogawa? Had to have been right? Yomi flashed to it when she saw the butterfly. He killed yomi rather easily so had it been a prior event couldn't he have just killed both her and toru then? I'm either putting to much or too little thought into this. I'm not sure which.

EDIT: ok i jumped the gun just a little in assuming yomi was killed in the attack-posessed yes, killed no...my feelings havn't changed =p

On yet another side note, I both love and hate the new sig. Hate for obvious reasons, but love the artistry of it.

It could be anywhere in a 3 year duration before episode 1. It's not explained at all, and is very frustrating. If the rumours of the Tokusen 4 OVA come true, that will likely give us more information on what happened. And there may even be information on the first DVD when it's released. I'll let you know when I get it after Christmas.

Mei has absolutely nothing to do with the death of Toru or any of his cohorts, so I couldn't possibly assign any blame to her. It's not really that confusing, she was corrupted by Mitogawa and killed by Yomi before the events in episode 1 even happened.

I don't really know much about Mitogawa so I couldn't say whether he enjoys toying with people or tormenting them or not, I will learn more about him when I start reading the manga on Monday night.

I adore the way Natsuki and Toru kept looking at each other and how badass they were through the whole episode. I will never forgive Yomi for taking awesome people away from me. Especially two who had such a romantic potential.

And here is an emoticon as proof of my rage:

>=O <- Fear it.

I love trawling for fanart, I always find good stuff for sigs.

She has everything to do with it! Yomi harbored no ill feelings prior to Mei killing her "father", stealing her inheritance, and presumably ruining her engagement. Without all of this she would not have become victim to mitogawa and the deathstone...end result=no psycho deathstone empowered yomi. Good Yomi isn't a cold blooded killer, and would have had no reason to harm Toru andand Natsuki.

Couldn't agree more, all we can do is hope for the OVA

It's not just those recent events that were behind Yomi's transformation, but the grudges she had built up over a lifetime. And the primary attribute behind her change of heart is jealousy. Mitogawa states when he changes her, that the feelings "were always there".

Meh, I know we're never going to agree but the chain of blame can't continue past Yomi and Mitogawa for me.

I guess I'll just leave it at that.

The fact that Yomi went out of her way to go to the Shutoken Gaikaku to kill Toru then go all the way back to start killing MoE personnel boggles the mind. And I can't fathom what he could have done to make her do that.

As far as we know, he pushed her after she yelled at him to shoot his girlfriend. :P And if that's the reason... Geez, pretty disproportionate payback.

Part of me wonders what the heck they were doing chilling in the middle of a water tank anyway, and how they even got the helicopter in there. It would have made more sense to go back to wherever they're stationed.

It makes me so sad, and I get so wound up over these things.

He says that in regards to Mei not Yomi. In Yomi's transformation he asks what her true hatred is, and the only thing that we have been given to believe that she hated for, I mentioned earlier.

And again you are right about this. There seems to be no logic behind the slaying of Toru and the others, except to create intrigue for remaining episodes.

Now i'm off to watch the latest episode of chaos head-i've been so enthralled with ga-rei that i've forgotten to do that.

I'm loving that one too. Takumi living in a shipping container now finally makes sense, and it was really bugging me before.

Going to watch episode 11 later, but I have to make nice with the family. Christmas and all...

Then I need to watch Dexter.

Casshern Sins: Episode 1
Alright, so I'm pretty much new to the Casshern franchise, and my only real experience is a short clip from the live action movie I totally wanted to see but, alas, I don't live in Japan...and a download was not available. So I'm pretty much a n00b here.

Rather than my usual way of talking about a series, where I spoil every major point in the episode, I'm going to give a basic rundown of the episode instead:

I think the first five minutes were simply written based on the thought "Okay, how many ways can we have a guy destroy several large robots with his bare hands now?" They accomplish that...with gusto.

Casshern, our cybernetic hero, has apparently done something to ruin the world. He doesn't know what, he doesn't know his name, (He guesses it because all the robots trying to kill him chanted "Kill Casshern!") and isn't even certain if he's human or not. Not a lot of humans left, so there's not much to compare himself to.

On the beach, and I only call it a beach because it's a large body of water next to land, though there's not much sand, Casshern meets an unusually adorable little girl named Ringo, who thinks Casshern is "really pretty". She turns out to be a robot.

Large robot attacks Ringo, so Casshern comes to save the day. He makes the robot's arm explode by punching him in the chest.

Think about that for a minute.

Casshern goes completely psycho and begins ripping out the robot's...looks like entrails. The robot's screams of pain and last words of "I don't want to die!" freaks Ringo out.

Then Casshern meets a chick who really wants to kill him...man, no one likes that guy.

All in all...good first episode. Plenty of crazy action, decent character development, and just enough left out to keep you wondering why the world is in the state it's in, and why Casshern is involved.

What will be the next Anime fad? In the 80's we had Voltron, the 90's was Sailor Moon, the 00's is Naruto, but what will be the biggest and best star of anime in the 10's?

Well if it follows that trend it will have to be incredibly bad with 1 or 2 good things about the entire series.

The good about sailor moon i can get from just about any other anime(go short skirt powerrrrr!)

And the only good thing i have been able to find about Naruto is ninjas and Ninja Scroll did it betta

Casshern Sins: Episode 2:
While there are 12 episodes so far and I'm only up to 2, at least I had the foresight to download two episodes last night.

The ruin is sort of explained, or at least the outcome is (The origin is still a mystery): robots are beginning to steadily rust, unable to accept spare parts, until they eventually fall apart. This also prevents new robots from being built. Some robots are happy about this; being able to die makes them feel more human. Some are pissed; being able to die prevents them from doing things like ruling over an arid and desolate world. Casshern, however, is apparently immune.

The episode features Casshern meeting a conclave of robots dying from the ruin, and these ones don't want to kill him...okay, I take that back, most of them don't want to kill him. It wouldn't be a good story if someone wasn't out for the hero's blood. It'd be a bunch of robots talking to each other about their own imminent deaths; that's not exciting, that's just depressing. However, after they find out who he is, most of them succumb to the rumor that eating Casshern will stop their death, and go Dawn of the Dead on him. Casshern responds by ruthlessly slaughtering everyone, even attacking those who didn't attack him to begin with.

Again, good episode. A bit light on action compared to the previous episode, but at least we get most of the info on the ruin. There's also a helluva lot more character development, including seeing reactions to how robots deal with the ruin; they either accept it and become somewhat docile, or they refuse to let it happen and become psychotic killing machines. Oddly, most robots who come in contact with Casshern and want to do him in chant "Kill Casshern, Devour Casshern." Coincidence? Perhaps.

Yes but we can take amazing wild guesses at what will be the top of animation from here until 2020. 5 thoughts to think about.

1. The Gundam franchise after the 3rd season of OO, will take a year off before returning to "Gundam SEED Warriors". The decade will finalize with the all new 4 season "Gundam Beat" series.

2. After "Macross Frontier The Movie: Music's Edge", we won't see anything until "MMD: Macross Megaroad Dynasty" in 2015.

3. A grand surprise for 2013 will be Masamune Shirow's unnamed Dominion project, when it is finally revealed as a imagining not of Tank Police, but of "Mobile Police Patlabor".

4. "Slayers Gala" will be pushed back due to the popularity of "Lost Universe: New Galaxy" and "Ultra-Saber Marionette Jump" over taxing both the production and vocal teams.

5. J-rockers and anime fans will be astounded by three shows. "Knights Into Solitary Situations" tells the story of a team of fighters split after the destruction of the spaceship. each episode features a single members struggle to return home. Every episode will feature a title and music of KISS. The original line-up of X-Japan will be brought to OVA's as a team of superheroes in the future wasteland originally shown in their Rusty Nail video. Also the autobiography of the band RUSH will be presented in the new series "Spirit of Radio".

Anybody else want to submit an idea?

I don't want to make predictions but if I had to wish for things, then:

More Bamboo Blade.

More Spice and Wolf.

No need to wish for more Slayers, I'm already getting my Rezo-centric series next month. =D

Tokusen 4 getting their own series and spin-off manga. This is an absolute must, and I will take over Japan and have them make it as part of a national decree if I have to.

Hmm...

That's all that's on my wish list right now.

... Maybe A proper Tokimeki Memorial series would be nice. Not like Only Love or the awful original OAV, but a proper story with the original cast.

I would love to see Yuina in glorious modern animation. Koala!

OH. More Tekkaman Blade. Preferably a series that goes on as if Tekkaman Blade 2 never happened.

I dunno if I'd want to see 00 go for a third season; the months between the second and first seasons was unbearable enough. As for a return to SEED...I'm still waiting for the movie.

But, okay, I'll make a prediction or two:

1. For Naruto: Sasuke's side of the story will end with Shippuden, and the series as a whole will end with Naruto both destroying the Nine-Tailed Fox, and becoming Hokage, either as the end of Shippuden, or a third series.

2. For Gundam SEED: The SEED movie will come out; continuing the SEED tradition of retelling UC stories, the movie will be a retelling of Char's Counterattack.
