Cullen does say one or two lines which weren't featured in the movie and were specific to what happened the prequel (launching the AllSpark away from Cybertron)

Megatron is voiced by Frank Welker and retains the 'geriatric G1 voice' from the game.

What did you guys think of the 'Beginnings' Starscream? It wasn't Charlie Adler and sounded higher, more towards G1 Screamer.

They certainly made some interesting voice choices for the film. I thought Prime, Megatron, Jazz, Starscream, and Rachet were fine. But Ironhide's and Bumblebee's caught me completely off guard. I was expecting Ironhide's Texan drawl to come out, but I got over it after a while. But I don't think Bumblebee's voice fit at all. He's supposed to be the youngest of the group, the whippersnapper, if you will. (I mean goodness, he's a Camaro!) His voice just didn't fit.

Ah, I'll just blame it on his larynx injury. :D

Ironhide's voice was the only one that really bugged me. In a way his accent was perfect for his condescending type of personality but it's just not the southern drawl/beer drinking/kick ass and take names Ironhide I grew up with.

OK so Ironhide doesn't drink beer but you get the point.

Just listening to G1 Ratchet, and boy does movie ratchet sound familiar. Both have that sort of nasil-like deep voice.

Which is way off from his attitude. BB needed to sound like a surfer or a skateboarder or BMX biker....That would fit how he acts. If you watch the Autobots Arrival scene it reminds me of the Ninja Turtles.

Raphael = Jazz
Michaelangelo = Bumblebee
Donatello = Ratchet

Ratchet sounds/acts like a professor or teacher.
Jazz sounds/acts like the rude rebel thug
Bumblebee acts like a rocker/party dude

Mark Ryan voiced Bumblebee.

And, I have to agree that it sounds strange. I like British accents, generally, but it just doesn't fit for Bumblebee, IMHO.

It would have been better had the voice been younger sounding (I think that's been stated already but oh well). A young, cute British/English accent could work with Bee but I'd like to think an American accent would work too.

I don't like it much either. I swear it was like listening to someone off Corronation St or Eastenders. They all talk like they don't have a ounce of class in them.

Maybe Bumblebee has been snooping around British websites. That's how he got the accent.

Now I have this funny image in my head of Bumblebee sitting around watching British TV shows like Red Dwarf, Monty Python, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?

I Think. Youtube rules

I like Bee's voice in the TF movie, the way he asks for permission shows the respect he has for Optimus.
Wasn't Bee the youngin of the TFs, and had upmost respect for the older TFs, and wishes to be like them.
I believe it's quite fitting, but hey, that's my opinion! :grin:

I though that BB sounded a little too deep and mature...
I know he's not a little kid or anything, but he was so upbeat, cool, and not to mention a little childish, that I sorta exspected a lighter younger voice.
But when he opened his mouth out came this deep adult voice, I was sorta taken aback.

very true! But then in the prequel it came as not fitting too! lol.

I suggest you try to find the Ultimate Bumblebee commercial. Or the toy itself. And listen to it talk. I think the voice on there fits BB nicely!

No, not just you. I can't buy an American muscle car with a British accent either. Not only that, it was a 180 turn-around from what we'd heard all through the movie. All the clips he plays have American accents--John Wayne, the televangelist, Star Trek, rap--and when he got his voice back at the end, I too had a wtf moment.

Definitely not just you.

The voice that bugged me was when he spoke at the end of the movie...
Made him seem too old.

AND, the last time I watched the movie, something that stood out more that kinda bugs me
is the transition from day time to night...
Seems really too quick.

That's kinda what I thought.
I mean it was broad daylight when Bumblebee chased Sam from his house and only a few minutes later after BB beat up Baricade, it was completely dark.
Even in a movie it seemed too quick.
