Manga - Ranma 1\2. I've just started reading it and think it's awesome. Although, for those that know me, the jokes work for me on more levels than most people.

The cuteness is what makes it horrible as a Gundam series. A war between humans using Mobile Suits, showing all the horror and tragedy that war brings, that's what it's supposed to be. Hell, I can even get behind the idea of the Mobile Suits being able to think and function without the pilot.
But no, no cuteness. At all.
If I want horror, I'll just read (or watch) "Pet Shop of Horrors".
Personally, I don't like the other Gundam series, BECAUSE they're too serious. Check my updated list above, and you might notice a trend in the genres.

To be fair, amongst Gundam fans, SD is extremely unpopular. Because of the cuteness. It's such a huge departure from the sci-fi/war drama that the series was so well known for. Hell, even G Gundam is more Gundam-like then SD.

Yeah, the only good series is Full Metal Alchemist.
The first season of Tsubasa Chronicles was lots of fun too. After that... not so good... very boring.
Haruhi was well animated and had some nice moments, despite having an absolutely stupid story.
I liked the fan service in Rosario+Vampire, but that's pretty much all it was good for...
And uh... yeah that's all. The rest of that list makes me want to bang my head up against a breeze block.

Oh, I must add another title:
Getbackers, only the manga and not the anime. I've seen a few episodes and think the manga version is way superior and way more violent.

What, am I the ONLY one who likes comedy?
...And Science Fiction?
I mean, "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", when watched in the CORRECT order (check the Wikipedia article or the playlist on my Youtube channel), is actually quite good. When watched in the BROADCAST order, it's completely confusing!
"Rosario + Vampire" is another good show. If you ignore the fanservice, like I did, it has a very interesting story. (I can't wait for Season 2 to come out!)(Yes, there IS a 2nd season.)
I've actually only seen the first episode of "Tsubasa Chronicles" so far, but I've already read the first 5 volumes of the manga. I liked the fact that the episode elaborated more on several key plot points of the first chapter than the manga did.
I like the manga of "Ouran High School Host Club" better than the anime. This is because so many of the jokes are lost when translated to anime format. (Such as the comments on the side.)
Anyway, I'm done ranting.
For now.

No you're not the only one.
Haruhi isn't confusing at all. I admit, I liked it the first time around, but it fails in the aspect that so many shows have done before it and after it. It is one of those quirky shows that draws in an audience then throws its weight around toward the end as if it's got something to prove by trying to make the story seem a lot darker and "deeper" than it should be, ultimately killing all the fun that was in the story. Reminds me a lot of how much I loved Gilgamesh, only for the ending to be so poorly executed my violent urges were strung so high I was a potential danger to those around me.
What is special about the story in Rosario+Vampire? It is a straight forward harem show with an unlikeable male lead, as in so many harem shows.
Lucky Star is for lolicon fetishists who love shows devoted to culture references. But the former is an area I don't want to start ranting about because it is a part of the fandom I have very very strong feelings against.
Pokemon? Yugioh? For them to even appear on your favourites is an absurd notion to me. The shows and the franchises they support are an affront to Otaku everywhere, the very fact that they exist causes me pain. The show should remain popular of course, for the preteen and early teen target audience it is intended for, not for us.

Um, first of all, I AM a teenager.
And I like "Yu-Gi-Oh!" because I like Trading Card Games.
However, "GX" and "5D's" TOTALLY screwed up the whole franchise.
LittleKuriboh worded it best: "Come on. Card games on motorbikes? That has got to be the stupidest thing ever...".
The last few episodes of "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" were good, though, because Yugi got to beat Jaden.
Also, I would have REALLY liked it if 4Kids hadn't "toned down" Yu-Gi-Oh!, and kept its intended audience of teens and above. (In case you didn't know, the original was incredibly violent.)
At least the manga is still the same.
Phew.
Anyway, why don't we all stop berating each other's favorite manga/anime, and start talking about the aspects we LIKE?

You are right of course. But you got me worked up with the insinuation that I might find Haruhi confusing. I apologize.
But as far as "incredible violence" in the unedited Yugioh goes...
Ah, forget it, I'm not gonna start it up.
I would like more Bamboo Blade and Spice and Wolf, please. As well as a second season of Neuro. Get to it.

How do you say Lucky Star is for lolicon fetishes? There was nothing suggestive about it whatsoever. It was nothing more than a comedy series (that‘s far too underrated) with cute characters.
If somehow you conjured up in your head it’s lolicon I don’t exactly see how. Maybe in fan art, but nothing in this show was lolicon, I watched every darn episode, so I don’t see where you come from saying that.

You misunderstand me in your over eagerness to defend your show. The show may not be overtly lolicon...HOWEVER! And I stress that it is a big however! The show HAS spawned that following, the "fanart" you reference is undeniable evidence of that. The show has become a staple of the lolicon side of the fandom, those people are disgusting, and I am ashamed to share a hobby with them. That's the meaning behind what I said and I stand by it to the grave.

Did you read my list? Most of it is sci-fi, Excel Saga is comedy. In fact, the only two that aren't are Death Note and Devil May Cry.
The difference is that I like shows that are good.

But the fan art isn’t really the fault of the creators. And if you saw some kind of lolicon Nuero or Skywarp (LOL, loli-warp) fan art, would you still like both things?
Though I will admit the lolicons are, well… downright creepy, don’t let them ruin what could be a perfect show. Instead just ignore them, they’re nothing more than perverts on the internet and you shouldn’t let them take fun away from your hobby.
I’m SURE, that for every title there’s some kind of loli fan art, but you just got to enjoy a show for what it is. I hate the lolicons too, which is why I don’t watch stuff like Kodomo no Jikan, but Lucky Star isn’t (outside of Danbooru) lolicon, so I feel fine watching it.

It's a subject I feel very passionately about, being a servant of justice and righteousness as I am.
I feel I'm still not coming across clearly enough though so let me start by saying, I understand that the show itself is innocent, and that the particular group of followers it has amassed are solely to blame. But I don't really like the show anyhow as it's not quite to my tastes. That is not trashing it anyway, that is just how I feel.
It was perhaps, unfair of me to single it out, as there are plenty of others out there that suffered the same fate, but it was the one on Thunderboom's list that caught my eye. (It's all his fault! *point*)
Unfortunately for me, once it has been latched onto, the stigma never quite goes away.

I'm pretty sad when it comes to Anime/Manga. I don't read the Manga in most cases, I usually will watch some different older Anime. In many cases, I'm not even sure what counts as Anime, and not.
Starblazers (US) aka Spaceship/Battleship Yamato is one of my all time favorite series. Macross/Robotech was another favorite.
I also enjoy Gundam Wing, but have not watched enough other Gundams to really know if I like much else. SD Gundam was horrible to me. I really love so many of the robot designs though in so many of the series, I cannot sit through many of the series for very long.
I enjoyed Zoids for awhile, and Digimon.
I really like Full Metal Alchemist, and Trigun.
Most of my exposure to Anime came from what use to be SCI FI channels Anime Saturday mornings, where I was introduced to many that I liked, but have since forgotten, and don't seem to be able to find again. I also got exposed with Adult Swim, so I'm pretty limited as to what I have seen.
I do have to say movie wise, I love AKIRA, NAUSICAA and the VALLEY of the WIND, and HOWL's MOVING CASTLE.
Never been able to get into Dragonball, Naruto, BObobobo, or many others.
