I would honestly guess that this Automorph thing is mostly a gimmick to satisfy the stores that sell them. IIRC, Wal-mart & such require the toy companies anymore to come up with some advertised gimmick to slap on the boxes basically to let people know that the toys currently sitting on the shelves are radically different from the ones their kid purchased last year, & therefore give them a reason to purchase another. Could be wrong.
Also, I don't exactly like the idea of these robots "morphing". I mean, basically the words transform & morph mean the same thing: to change.....but to me, it's a bit more. Transforming seems more like moving pieces of one object to make it take a different shape....i.e. A robot that changes shape to look like a car, but is still in fact, a robot, whereas "morphing" seems more like one object becoming another alltogether....i.e. a robot actually changing into a car, therefore making it no longer a robot, but a car. Little subtle differences like that scare me, because if such things are sought after, it could take TF's away from the very defining elements that has made it so popular.
