I have actually spotted another toy photographer in the wild once. Some guy was taking pics of a vinyl reindeer. He set up the shot, took it and quickly stashed the deer in his coat and moved on. It was a pretty neat experience.
Honestly it only feels weird the first couple of times and gets easier and easier.
