Thanks for the suggestion, but (with the Reprolabels applied) I quite like the Universe Ravage. Besides which, I generally dislike knock-offs. (A statement that, I suppose, may be slightly at odds with the last photo I posted, with the eight KO seekers helping to fill out the ranks... But I digress...)

As for Lazerbeak... While I like the Booster X10 I am repurposing, he isn't the ideal Classics style Lazerbeak. But I'll remain content with him unless a better option comes along. (And if a better option does present itself, hopefully it also gets a Buzzsaw repaint.)

@ Yotsuyasan - The back drops look really great. I think the toys deter the eye from any imperfections.
Don't know if you have other shelves that need the same treatment, but over here in this thread, Leakin' Lubricant was nice enough to share a link to a ton of really nice backgrounds form the cartoon.

Ha ha... Funny you should link that. That thread links to a further thread over at the TFW2005.com forums, and even though I came to it via a different source (Google image search) that seems to have been the source of the images I used!

There is only one other shelf I might hypothetically do something like this to... But it is an even taller shelf then the one I have my Autobots on (it is a shelf of gestalts) so I'm not sure if I'd be able to print out a suitable background. I may leave it just black.

I believe, and ScottyP will correct me if I'm wrong, that the target of the lambasting was the 30 of 30 'exclusive' line, rather than the 2014 Generations line (with its 'Thrilling' sub-label). That's what the picture seems to be depicting, too.

im the same way with KO's.
99.99999999654999% of the time i will buy authentic over KO regardless of cost. but in the instance of DL ravage, paying ebay prices for the real thing churns my stomach (probably cause he's so little). and theres a TONNE of really bad DL ravage KO's out there, but the one in chimungs store is better quality and spot on to the authentic (and so cheap!).

all that said, i am always on the hunt for the real one for non-nightmarish prices.

and as far as KO's go, i think the only ones i have are the same CHMS ones you have, and that ravage. and the minute hastak makes seeker clones and proper rainmakers, ill kick em to the curb

On the extremely off chance they ever do do such a thing regular retail*, I'm right there with you! Sadly, I think the con exclusive ones they did in the not too distant past are the closest we'll get. (I suppose, as far as my collection goes, I should be happy I got my KOs before those con-exclusive ones came out, as the existence of those official ones, even if unobtainable by me, would have still been enough to dissuade me from the KO route.)

*Yes, I know there was a retail release of the green Rainmaker... but the Rainmakers need to be a trio, and have matching decos...

you mean the botcon rainmakers (welcoming committee) would have been enough for you? i can see that. but for me im actually stoked that i can have both those (incredibly obscure) teams represented in my collection. not to mention im a seeker whore

Hell no, far from it. Because I would have never owned them! I can't justify the expense of the outrageous price of Botcon exclusives. What I meant was that, if the Botcon ones had been a thing before I bought those KOs, my anti-KO ethics would have been too strong to override. As it was, I barely managed it because it was a mold I already had multiple official versions of, and they were characters that hadn't been represented by official toys.

Ah. I had a feeling that was what you meant, I just wished to be sure.

I agree CHUG sounds dumb, and I don't like using it myself. I just usually go with "Classics" or "Classics style" if discussing multiple figures across lines, and I will refer to Universe 2.0 or Generations figures by their proper lines if referring to specific figures.

Obviously those were by far not the entirety of my Classics style collection. But those two shelves were originally intended to be the Arc crew and the Decepticon stowaways of the same. Obviously that wouldn't technically include the Rainmakers or Sunstorm, but since the Decepticon ranks would be so thin otherwise, I decided to bend things a bit to allow the shelves to look a bit more even. (If Hasbro makes a third Legends Insecticon, and assuming I also get my hands on both of the first two, I may throw them on that shelf, too.)

When I got the Real Gear Robots back in 2007, I wasn't going to bother with High Score 100. Then I saw him on sale and picked him up. I instantly wanted my money back, but instead I put him on a shelf and forgot about him until after it had been too long to take him back. Then he went in a storage bin. I dug him out last night and started playing with him, and I realized just how ridiculous and awesome he is.
